Boomquisha from season 3, also known as Boomie, and also known to those who are lame as Jennifer Hudson (also known for having a very famous relative at VFTW named  ) is set to star in "Dreamgirls" with Beyonce and Jamie Foxx this year. The reviews have been incredibly positive so far, so it looks like she didn't need no stinkin' AI after all. Quote : But the brightest of all the shining stars is by far, Jennifer Hudson. All in all, your gonna adore this flick. Bill Condon has done wonders with this 25 year old musical and has made it a living, breathing cinematic event... did I mention Jennifer Hudson is a mother fuckin' star? Boomie was also the very first VFTW contestant in American Idol history. So, we are honored to have a thread about her here and see her doing well. A testament to the power of VFTW.

Aspx is a weird type of file... for some reason it doesn't work. Try converting it to a jpg or gif.

I never liked her. Wasn't any shocking elimination to me the night she left. And she's become a saint on any other board...no negativity must be uttered about the JHud. But I can wish her well and be happy for her fans. I just don't have to agree with them. And at least they're not crazy glitternazis.

I thought she was a pretty bad singer who had one or two good performances, which isn't the mainstream opinion, but I love Boomie for her VFTW over-the-top exaggerated performances (including the outstretched hand that did not impress Whatevia).

I do lurve Boomie BUT, she is quickly approaching Kelly Clarkson territory meaning she cannot be snarked on, and cannot be frowned upon on. I like Kelly too, but it gets annoying seeing any of these people put upon a pedestal, and then there is the whole "bandwagon" thing. Boomie lived in the bottom 3 during her run on AI, and even though she improved as weeks went by, she just did not really have the same kind of hold over the public that the other kids did. I think she scared a lot of america with her scary faces and theatrics but as soon as she signed onto the movie, so called "fans" came out of the woodwork. Funny how that works

 because I just came across this on YouTube. Her interview on ET after she was voted off AI, and she was so classy in her interview. Even weirder is her wishes to be in Dreamgirls. Guess dreams can come true :woo 3 more months!!

I have the first game of the World Series on (why, I have no idea) and Boomie just sang God Bless America for the 7th inning stretch. One, she looks like shit. Two, she sings like shit. I hate oversingers.

From what I've seen of Dreamgirls (which is about 35-40 mins of it) Boomie is amazing. I never knew she could act, but she is quite natural at it. And this is the type of music she is meant to sing, where you are supposed to be over the top. She is meant to be on broadway. &;lt;3 Boomie &;lt;3
