Kelly seems to be doing some good marketing. "Stronger" is #1 on Billboard Hot 100. I suppose the Super Bowl helped some but she was #2 the week before. They also played a little of it on "Suburbgatory." It's an OK song, I guess. Certainly better than this season of Idol so far.

If you watched season 1 and saw her version of You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman - you'd have to say she's a great vocalist. She can hit some unbelievable notes.

On her albums, they never let her show off her range (and they usually overproduce them too), but live - she is a monster singer!

For some reason, her record comapny wants to make her sound like everyone else. And when left to her own devices she comes up with dreary unmarketable stuff like - My December.

But have her sing some classic songs live - and magic just happens!!!

Yea, Adele is also no twig and it isn't hurting her any. Maybe Kelly will eventually go the Boomie route, which has helped her marketability.

As far vocals go, I prefer Kelly's to any of the other AI winners. She has excellent range, as does Boomie. Neither the anthem nor Ave Maria, which Kelly sang for the previous pope, are easy gigs but she didn't even seem to have to work much to hit the highs on them. I've always thought AI was lucky to find her because I'm not sure they would have gotten far past season one without someone of her ability. Let's just say if they had one of their WGWG of recent years as their first winner, I'm not sure the show would have caught on so much. And then, I would have missed out on all of the WFTW laughs over the years, which has been way better than the show for quite some time.

What does her being fat have to do with her vocals?

The Fray's March Madness anthem just made Kelly's Super Bowl anthem look absolutely spectacular. A true WTF moment. The basketball players looked like they were trying not to laugh.
