I totally, completely agree. Aside from Jesus Bin Castro, she was my favorite auditioner.

Yeah that's weird. I don't remember her, but she seemed a lot more talented than most of the peops in the semis.

You know I always wondered if there is some poaching going on.

Did you see the way Simon looked at her, it wasn't sex.

That's the look of a producer who wants to sign someone.

Are ther any cases of people getting deals with Simon or 19 without ever getting to hollywood or the show?

Why would they do that?

It would be pretty dirty and hard to pull of but this is show biz.

Randy and Simon have there own production companies seperate from the rest. They would have a bigger cut.

It's just always amazed me that no one really good has ever appeared on this show in 6 years. Even Kelly and Carrie would never have wowed a producer. There success is wholly dependant on AI I would say. But then again someone really talented would get a deal without AI so they would never need it.

Still I wonder if Randy or Simon ever think about it.

I don't see any reason why they would do that. They would still make way less money without AI even if they got a larger cut. AI is a huge promotional tool. Seriously, what new/young non-AI artists have come out of Simon or Randy's production companies lately that have charted higher than the American Idols?

If you can get through the first 3 1/2 minutes of crap on this video, Rachel is interviewed and sings. She said she was eliminated in Hollywood on Day 1, but there was not reason given, she doesn't know why. She also didn't get kicked out of school by doing the show.

I bet Rachel would post here if someone invited her.

I asked her on myspace if she's trying again, no reply yet. She does generally keep her blog updated for the most part, so maybe I can get her to visit us.

As for what happened to her, Rosebud posted what I was going to. She said she went to Hollywood, and they sent her home day 1 without an explanation.

Sad thing is if they were limited to "1 rocker per show" (it seems anyway) I think Rachel would have been a much better pick than Gina. *shrug*

Hollywood week in 2007 was very strange. They sent dozens of people home with no expanation. Something has smelled strange about this season from the get go!

Interesting. Well Antoiletta to the producers. Rachel was much beter than the borefest that Haley, Lakisha, wookie et al. produced this year. Barf

I got the sense that they were eliminating really good singers early to "prove" that their level of talent was higher or something.

When they eliminated Jory near the beginning of Hollywood, I thought we were going to see lots of good people this year... then they all sucked harder than ever. Most of the top24 were worse than Jory by a mile.

I cracked up when she just ran off at the end there. Like "Yay, I'm gonna run all the way to Hollywood!"

I really hope she tries out again this year. Hopefully R, P &;; S will see the error of their ways and she'll make the top 24. I love her voice, she has personality (the main thing lacking in AI^ except Sanjaya) and the camera fucking loves her!

Rachel, if you're reading this, try out again and don't take no for an answer. :chickenlittle

Before AI has a chance to shutdown their personal blogs, e-mails, etc. for AI7, I would suggest we all try to seriously recruit as many of the auditioners as we can as soon as we see them on the air.

If we could get a few of them to post after being cut, it would be a VFTW Victory
