Um, DUH. Every reality show is cast this way (other than Cops and Cheaters, I suppose). The fact that you would claim that AI did anything because of YOU is flat out sad and self-indulgent. Get lives.

I work at a music agency. When "The One" was casting, they called us looking for singers. We submitted a girl in my own band, who made it to Idol's Hollywood week 2nd season (but not the top 24). None of you have ever heard of her, but you probably saw her on those two shows. Because we sing at weddings every Saturday, does that make her someone who "already had her shot" and doesn't deserve to make it on Idol?

If you are a standard local "model," (meaning you stand in WalMart and hand out lotion samples, or hand out Jaeger at bars at night, or maybe do some shots for a local retailer-it's called promo modeling), then the agent who gets you those jobs also gets you auditions for reality tv shows.

You people are crying because these "plants" are "failed" musicians who already had their shot???? And as proof you show some promo model from Indiana who sang in a bar band? She isn't "failed," she's trying to make it. NOW she is, because NOW we know her name!!! Or someone whose record deal netted her 400 sales? That isn't her fault, its the record company's fault. Or some girl who opened up for a name act in some small town? Local crap bands do that all the time, it means NOTHING. Some kid who won another talent show when he was little? Well we weren't going around making threads about him 2 months ago, were we?

How "discovered" do you have to be to get on you peoples shit list? Not very it looks like! Being in a bar band or on some other reality show doesn't make you a "plant" any more than on all the other hundreds of reality shows. There are even "failed plants???" WTF?? They are all people who promo model, sing in bands, and audition for reality shows because they are trying to make it. Who says these people don't deserve a second chance? American Idol is a NEW chance. Idol has been pretty upfront about the contestants pasts.

Eh, er, yes they have. Last night they told us about that old boy-band kid opening for Brittany. Tonight they told us about Carly's label signing and the black girl's acting career, maybe more that I can't remember.
