I didn't like him. His sob story got him in. Usually you keep your mates death to yourself not tell everyone watching that their last wish was that you become a famewhore before they died.

Actually, I remember AI pimping out his sob story, but I don't remember that he did anything more than tell the story and get sad, which anyone would do, only 4 weeks later. Not like he provided video footage from his previous life (like Lil Rounds and a few others did, where we saw old pictures and old videos of them...that's pimping your story out!). Or did he, and I just forgot?

I mostly just remembered the song (I heard it through the grapevine) because he was swinging his arms around kinda wild and then the sort of amusing awfulness of the "knuckle punches" at the end.

I probably would have liked this guy more if he had auditioned next year. There's just something about going to an American Idol audition 4 weeks after his wife died that is just unsettling. I understand life needs to go on, but it just seemed like an odd move on his part.
