Front page Quote : American Idol is certainly at least attempting to find a contemporary recording artist this year. We can see that since someone like Ashthon Jones made it to Hollywood. Ashthon lives in Nashville and she's got a whole Ciara vibe going on in her music video for Like This. The song basically sounds like anything else you'd hear on the radio right now... so is that good or bad? The jury's out on her - she could either be someone we'd like or she could end up dumbing herself down to the point of boredom to try to win the show. Most likely, she's just Hollywood fodder because the producers don't let anyone remotely current through to the finals.
She's in the top 40. Too marketable so they're probably making her fodder.
