I'm hoping that once she makes the tour she'll loosen up and start bringing out her crazy side.

shock According to Idol Maniac @ IDF, Lilly's apparently doing a bluegrass hoedown.

Not according to Idol Maniac. According to Lilly's twitter which was posted days ago. Old news.

I knew the bluegrass part already. It was the alleged hoedown that he claimed, which had me hopeful of a VFTW Victory--but it was another disappointment.

It's the same old thing every week with Lilly, America is confused and bored at the same time. If we manage to save Paige, she could be gonzo.

That was the creepiest version of that song I've ever heard. She just sang it straight but her voice & that song were just icky. Like a B-movie possessed chick.

That last push at the end of "I Fall To Pieces" was so off-key, it hurt my ears. She has no range. Plus, her affected Lily Allen-phrasing is beyond annoying; even more so than Didi's or Lacey's.

I just don't get her. I don't hate her. I just don't get why anyone particularly likes her or how she's sailing into the Top 12.

p.s. Do something with your hair. (Something else, I mean.)

This girl needs to become a Wiccan Priestess or something and sing folk music at their festivals while calling in the Great Spirits...she gets on my nerves with her peacock-feather earrings and "oh-look-i'm-so-cool-and-unique" ugly grey hair...

Lilly seemed so VFTW worthy, but with the judges pimping her and the general audience liking her, she became a shock boot instead.

Never woulda thunk it. But hilarious nonetheless. I kind of still like Lilly anyway.

Dammit, I totally loved her. Her and Siobhan were the only ones who actually entertained me...

I wasn't surprised about Katelyn, but wow at Lilly. I was waiting for her to do some kind of crazy psychedelic folk on big stage, now she's gone Paula

Some people seem surprised that she got the boot, but she never really got out of first gear, not very exciting at all.

TPTB are very relieved that she's gone. She's a fug by TV standards and sings in the same style as their precious Didi (whom they revealed was the first to go through to the semis because meltdown watch/suspense brings out her worst). I thought AC sung better than Didi but now there's only one affected singer left in the competition, less confusion, greater vote consolidation.

Rule 1 - don't mess with Patsy. She's fine to do in a karaoke bar after a few beers & shots but southern follks love her & get angry when her songs are done wrong (like a creepy version as I described above).

From USA Today, Lilly's conference call interview, 'Idol' finalist Lilly Scott: 'My fan base just wasn't there':

'Idol' finalist Lilly Scott: 'My fan base just wasn't there'

By Korina Lopez, USA TODAY

In one of the biggest shockers of the American Idol season, much-praised Lilly Scott, 20, got the boot Thursday night. She shared observations and theories about her elimination in a Friday conference call.

Q: When you were eliminated, you didn't hide your surprise and said, "I don't know what America wants to hear." What was the emotion behind that and what were you trying to say as an artist?

A: I wanted to break the mold and be that offbeat contestant that did exactly what I wanted to do and explain myself as an artist with my song choice. I have no regrets in that department. But watching certain people make it into the top 12 that kind of haven't done so well in the past weeks, and then basing on the judges' comments on my three songs, I was frustrated. I feel like my fan base wasn't there, even though the judges and producers seem to love me. And I felt like I was having a great run on the show. But I guess my fans weren't there. So that's why I said that. But then I think my voting demographic is more of the underground scene, who don't even own a TV. They were probably all out riding their bikes and or doing something more productive than watching TV, let alone American Idol.

Q: You got robbed. Do you think it might have been your song choice that got you eliminated? You talked about the fan base, but do you think it was your last song that did it?

A: Yes and no. I feel that I picked the right song. I love Patsy Cline and that describes who I want to be as an artist. I think that the American Idol voting demographic are tweens and girls. And I'm sure that they don't even know who Patsy Cline is. I'm staying true to my song choices. I have no regrets. The audience I was playing to probably wasn't voting, except in their hearts. Or maybe people assumed that I was safe and chose not to vote. I don't know what happened.

Q: Who would be an artist that you would like to work with on an album?

A: I would love to meet Thom York from Radiohead and Bjork. They're like the king and queen of the indie world. They are who I strive to be as an artist.

Q: You seem pretty confident that there's an audience out there for you. Where do you see yourself going from here now that you've got the exposure?

A: I feel like I would fit in the big summer festival circuit, like Coachella and Bonnaroo. I could have a different kind of audience if I could go on tour that way. I want to do some mass touring. Recording is on my list of to-dos. I know there's a fan base out there, but I don't think it was the American Idol voting demographic and that was what I was worried about from Day 1. I thought I could break the mold, but I guess it's another season of the same old stuff.

Q: Did any of the judges come up to you after the show and offer you any consolation?

A: Randy (Jackson) definitely showed his sympathy. He said that it's great that I know who I am. He was upset to see me go. Kara (DioGuardi) thinks that maybe America thought I already had the whole package and was ready to go as an artist, so comfortable in my own skin that America didn't know what to do with me. And American Idol is all about finding someone who is still that amateur artist, then making them a star. I thought that knowing who you are is a good thing, but it turned out not to be a good thing.

Q: You keep referring to the demographic, so did you see this coming?

A: I did and didn't. I've watched Idol. Every year, the one I fall in love with goes home. I don't know if it's because I see true artistry or what. I could have done a great job with Rolling Stones, and I could have kicked butt in the top 12. Maybe I was too off the wall for people. Or maybe it was my time to go out with a bang. And I can keep my indie cred. And now I can do my own thing without the Idol thing over my head.

Q: Do they let you know who voted for you?

A: They don't. I would love to know the statistics; I don't want to think anything is rigged, I want to know how many votes I did have.

Q: What were your expectations going into the show?

A: The people that I thought were going to go home were completely different from who would, including me, go home. It's strange that people who are roommates went home the same night. And Janell (Wheeler) and Ashley (Rodriguez) and Todrick (Hall) and Alex (Lambert), they were all roommates. And that's a strange repetitive thing that's happened.

Q: You've mentioned Thom Yorke and Bjork. Did you ever think of doing songs more in that vein, rather than songs that are twice as old as you?

A: I definitely did, but the producers persuaded me against playing songs like that because they're less well-known than Sam Cooke and Patsy Cline. I actually did try to do Nude by Radiohead. But that didn't get cleared. So I thought that I love classic rock and I was going to make that my niche this season. But, unfortunately, indie underground music isn't really ready for a breakthrough.

Q: Closing remarks?

A: American Idol has been a great experience, and I appreciate meeting everyone. And it's a great stepping stone to what I'm going to do with the rest of my career.
