She lost the Much Music Best New Artist Award to Justin Bieber. Video here and even though I never saw Canadian Idol how the hell was she nominated for Best New Artist when she was on the show in 2007.

Watch the whole thing. I actually really like this video and it kind of makes me like her a little. The song isn't completely terrible either. It's about as good as what you could possibly expect from her.

So Call Me Maybe is #2 on iTunes right now, and I was wondering why it was so popular, and then I noticed that all the reviews of it were mentioning Justin Bieber or Selena Gomez.
Apparently they're pimping the song like crazy on Twitter.  And it looks like it'll probably be #1 once that "Somebody That I Used To Know" cover on one guitar dies down in popularity.

It's not really surprising. I heard it twice on the radio when I was driving home for Christmas and one of my friends posted the video on Facebook.
I wonder how much cash Justin and Selena got to pimp it. Sounds like a good marketing strategy. Their tards will do whatever they say.
