We've all seen Kristy Lee's lovely video where she's gleefully posing with the confederate flag. We've been trying to avoid creating a thread for this piece of trailer trash and mocking her (and her fat pig friend) in the spoilers thread, but I can't take it anymore:

That flag has been used as a symbol of hate -- primarily against my people, but also against anyone who aren't kard karrying kkk members. So, I think that it's an acceptable knee-jerk reaction to think that someone photographed with and/or near the stars n' bars is a racist, bigoted mother fuckin' asshole hillbilly.
But you're right...she may not be at all...and, most certainly, not all folks flying the Confederate Flag are racist, bigoted mother fuckers...but DUDE...if one is going to display that thing, one should and must better be ready to suck it up and TAKE THE HEAT, because, understandably, one will not receive the benefit of the doubt...

Sab and M-Dawg, I also understand that side of the debate (as much as I can) and I surely did not mean to downplay it. I just wanted to emphasize that there are 2 sides to the coin. I also agree that the knee-jerk reaction is going to happen (rightfully so, as slavery/racism/all that trash is and has been more closely identified with that flag than innocent family heritage) and that one should be prepared for it.
Perhaps I was fortunate to live in a little town where this issue isn't a huge one. There used to be a statue of a Confederate soldier looking down in shame in the city square. It was moved during the Civil Rights Movement to a big cemetery, where it now stands amongst graves of Confederate and Union soldiers, which also served to change the tone of the statue (instead of shame for losing the war, it's now meant to be shame for wasteful loss of life).
I guess the point is they found a way to preserve the history of the town without needlessly offending people when that became a problem, and that's where I grew up. To them it's a part of their history. Shameful history, but I don't think that means they should just forget it happened.
I hope I didn't offend anyone, or insult anyone's intelligence, or get all preachy and defensive, or otherwise come off as an asshole, I was merely trying to shed some light.
Glad you liked the bumper sticker, M-Dawg, I bought it at a Tuscaloosa mall and immediately stuck it next to one that reads, "Your proctologist called, they found your head." Fitting, don't you think?
Of course, that's also next to one that reads, "I am not infantile, you stinky butt poophead"...... |

You're entitled to your opinion saxyman. I find nothing offensive in your post. However, I suspect many will disagree with you.
What I do find offensive, however, is Kristie Lee's video, the demographic she's pandering to, the fat pig sleeping with her in bed and, most of all, her voice
I hope this doesn't turn into a major debate...fingers crossed

This is unbelievable. How many more plants are gonna be unearthed? I bet it'll be hard to find someone out of this year's crop that DOESN'T have some kind of pre-existing professional background, with the exception of the mandatory fodder. I mean, having a manager that used to work for an established star and being chummy with BritBrit is just outraegous.
I haven't bothered listening to most of these people yet either, except potato girl. Is this one decent or no? |

I'd like to point out that CI was first with the Pure Aryan Country Chick contestant (Annika) and AI7 is just being a boring copy-cat. That is all.
OK, that is not all: I don't see anything so far to make me believe she is a bigoted hillbilly, but she is, undoubtedly, a really dumb bitch for getting filmed in front of the KKKonfederate Flag. Someone from Oregan really ought to know better, oh wait, what am I saying? |
