Chris Sligh Signs!

It’s not official yet, but last night, Chris Sligh announced in a radio interview with WAY-FM that he has signed with the independent label Brash Music. Brash is the label that recently released a re-mastered version of “Take a Chance on Something Beautiful,” the CD from Chris’s band, Half Past Forever.

Listen to an acoustic version of one of Chris’s new songs, “Pleased” from last night’s radio interview, here. His voice sounds gorgeous, check it OUT. Chris has got a bunch of his demo’s posted at his MySpace. Give a listen.

For more, check out Chris’s blog and my buds at the Official Chris Sligh Fansite.

Go Chris!

Chris doesn't need the women. He has one of those. Can he skip that step and move on to like BMW's or something?

Haha...STP, Dave and all...thanks for the congrats. And, yes, I do have the woman And no BMW...maybe, um...I'd rather have a nice tour bus.

Anyway, I got a great, great deal that I'm extremely happy with. Brash seems to get a sense of how the music business is going and they put out a lot of money to get me...a lot more money than I know they've put out ever before...so that's exciting. They dig the songs and they believe we've got a hit album on our hand (in the CCM market, of course). I own 50% of my album (s), plus in 7 years I own the masters, plus I have a great budget and I got a sizeable advance.

It's been a good few weeks as we negotiated the deal and I started to see how dedicated they were to the music and to the vision I had for making records and doing it in a different way than is usually done. So that is exciting...it's all very exciting.

Again, thanks...it means a lot.
Chris

Congrats Chris VFTW Victory

Sounds like the deal you got is sorta like what Elliott got. Sounds pretty good. See its a good thing you didn't win. Just imagine you stuck with that damn AI contract and getting stuck with "Tattoo" Ryan

Congratulations, Chris, I hope you end up with an album that you want to release and are proud of. :) Not something as lame as what you'd be stuck with, if you were chained to 19E. Like a Britney Spears rejected song.....

Chris, did you make a decision on the exclusivity thing?

Chris,

Good for you! You deserve it. Partly because you are truly talented (but sadly and prematurely dismissed from Idol) and partly because you seem like you are a good person. You seem to have your values in order and have a strong moral compass. And partly because you have a good sense of humor and weren't afraid to shout out to VFTW and even come and post here with us. I hope you stick around no matter how successful you become.

Clap

We're not going to do the exclusivity...we're gonna go everywhere.

That's a pretty sweet deal, there: much better than you would have got going with a major. If they really understand the market you are aiming at and have good connections with the relevant radio stations etc., then the rest is going to be pretty much up to you.

Hey Chris! So happy for you and your wife. You really do deserve the success.

You know that the Worsters will get behind and promote it as well.

Do we get to help with an album cover? Laugh
