Let me be the first to kick off a lovefest for everyone's favorite wholesome, droidlike country girl. :)
She was recently interviewed in Reader's Digest:
Quote: RD: And overall, what do you think of fame: Is it a good thing or not?
Underwood: The good hugely outweighs the bad. But every once in a while, things get a little crazy. Sometimes I fear for my safety a little bit, and for my parents' safety. Somebody will park in front of my parents' house and sit there for hours. I'm afraid somebody's going to steal my dog or something.
RD: You're a big animal lover, right?
Underwood: I have two cats and a dog that, thank goodness, my parents are taking care of, because I'm traveling so much now. Before I went on American Idol, I was working for a veterinary clinic. I don't think enough people stand up for animals. My heart goes out to them because, to me, every single animal has a heart and a mind and a soul. I don't believe in doing crazy things to get attention for them -- just quietly protesting and doing my part.
RD: How do you quietly protest?
Underwood: I'm a vegetarian. And I encourage people to spay and neuter their animals. I would never hunt, nor would I ever be with somebody who did. But if you love to go hunt, then that's your business. I'm not a preacher.
She talks more about her career and her childhood in the article.
Discuss, y'all! |

| Just wondering, is she a strict vegetarian? I mean you can call yourself a vegetarian but still eat eggs or milk. |

| Strict vegetarians are VEGAN. Vegetarians eat veggies (obviously) and dairy products sometimes (and some eat fish too). |

Vegan people are seriously unhealthy. My friend's friend is vegan and his doctor told his father to mix eggs into some of his drinks just to get protein.

Vegan people are WHACK.
But anyway, Farmbot is neither. She only drinks oil and the occassional battery fluid. |

Farmbot claims she's not a crazy animal rights activist, but I suspect she's joined the Animal Liberation Front in liberating a few mink.

Carrie has grown on me. I did not like her on AI, but I ended up liking her post AI and think she put out a really great album. I also think her sales may rival Kelly's Breakaway. To think I scoffed when Simon stated she would sell more albums than all the other idols combined. Ok, she may not reach Kelly's sales, but I honestly thought she would sell the least of all the winners. I was all for Bo last season, but now im a I, Farmbot fan too :blazedis |

I actually kind of liked the cheesy song she sang on the finale show. I downloaded it--so sue me!
Though I must go on record saying that I *hate* "Jesus, Take the Wheel." And I'm a person who actually likes songs about Jesus...just not when they include child endangerment and reckless driving.
Oh, and I didn't like those Stares of Death she kept shooting at Taylor. What was up with that?

Just have to say I have never disliked Carrie. Wasn't too much of a fan either way honestly, but I do like country music. She has done well, fitting right in. I like her new song, it's catchy. Not much on the Jesus bit.
I think I admitted as much on the old board under the unpopular opinions thread... |

I took those stares as a positive (and that's a stretch for me!)...She never looked at Katharine. I caught Katharine try to look at her and Carrie would just turn her head back to Taylor. I was kinda hoping something catty had gone down backstage... |

^^^ Your wish is my command.
There was also one of Carrie in the audience looking disgruntled, but I can't find that one.

| I had a dress like that for my Barbie a loooong time ago, but it had a red velvet bodice and a gold belt. Now that I have given away my age sort of, I will shut up. |

I'm dying to know. Did Carrie get the nickname Farmbot because of that weird thing she does with her hand/wrist when she sings? She holds it like a mannequin...it's like she's not propping her hand on her hip, but it's hovering dangerously close to touching...
Or am I way off? |
