Kristy Lee Signs In Triplicate with Arista, Britney, and BMI

Brand-new Arista Nashville artist Kristy Lee continued to establish her roots in Music City by signing a songwriter affiliation deal with BMI at their Nashville offices. In addition to her label contract, Lee recently inked a deal with Britney Spears' newly-formed production company as its debut artist. Superstar Spears, a BMI affiliate, has already agreed to make a cameo appearance in Lee's first video.

The 17-year-old singer claims Selma, Oregon as her home, although recent months have been spent attending to business matters in Nashville and performing live in various venues in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Lee adds horses and softball to her passions beyond music. She is managed by Marty Rendleman, who formerly managed LeAnn Rimes.

Strongman I know what you are saying, but for those of us on the other side of the slave block, it represents a lot more.

When you know what sort of transportation was used to bring your ancestors, real relatives and human beings to this hemisphere, and then to have people in this day and age still fly a flag that celebrates that heritage, I have little sympathy.

The big ole' HOWEVER, however,comes from (as all-sabrina delicately and brilliantly stated it) the view from the other side of the slave-trading block...

That flag has been used as a symbol of hate -- primarily against my people, but also against anyone who aren't kard karrying kkk members. That flag has been shoved down my throat not as a symbol of Southern heritage, but as a sybmol of slavery and its progeny (segregation, lynching, Jim Crow, racism and discrimination).

So, I think that it's an acceptable knee-jerk reaction to think that someone photographed with and/or near the stars n' bars is a racist, bigoted mother fuckin' asshole hillbilly.

But you're right...she may not be at all...and, most certainly, not all folks flying the Confederate Flag are racist, bigoted mother fuckers...but DUDE...if one is going to display that thing, one should and must better be ready to suck it up and TAKE THE HEAT, because, understandably, one will not receive the benefit of the doubt...

Maybe we should rethink this line. Would the Southern voting block that supported Fantasia, Ruben, Melinda, Clay (not butch enough for Redneck Love) provide blind, lemming support of a blond-haired Confederate flag girl?
