Ok, vote for Bon Jovi everyone!

People can we please focus on the "situation" at hand here! I think Axl is a fine singer absolutely fine I don't think anyone can doubt that. The problem is not that he's getting votes, it's that he's getting more votes than Freddie. I'm trying my utmost to stay calm and refrain myself from writing in all caps and with the largest font (I know that's annoying) as you can clearly see but please don't by any means underestimate the urgency with which I am writing this post. I just don't understand it. I mean GnR were eliminated ages ago! Are these new GnR fans that have found their way to this site and are voting like mad for Axl or are these people that weren't ok with voting solely for GnR for best band but have no problem whatsoever in voting like this for Axl? Please help me understand how this could be happening? I mean Zeppelin is 2nd why isn't Robert 2nd (or at least close) and what about the others? Are not as many people voting anymore? I see a lot of Aerosmith and Bon Jovi fans on these forums and I can't imagine them voting for Axl!
If Queen lost to Led Zeppelin I would be ok with it because Zeppelin are such a great band and at least the race was close. If Brian lost to whomever I would be fine with it since I can't judge the talents of one guitarist compared to another and would trust that whoever wins is a great guitarist. However I could never in a million years accept Axl Rose winning as a better singer than Freddie in ANY poll fictitious or otherwise! I know that in the end it doesn't matter because Freddie will always be light years ahead of anyone else in my heart but still! Seeing it like this is just really bizarre in a way because I never expected it. It almost feels like people are voting for him because it would be so ridiculous for him to win (because he's such an underdog). I know you're probably thinking that I should get off my high horse and just deal with Freddie in 2nd place and Axl in 1st, but I can't (oops nearly lost it with all caps there for a minute). I'm sorry if I seem in anyway obnoxious (to be honest I don't really even care anymore) but I just had to get this off my chest.

To summarize: How on earth is Axl winning?

I don't even know what to say anymore, I really don't. I'm tired of having to defend or compare Freddie's talent with someone like axl rose (no offence but come on). I thought that the music would speak for itself but I guess I was wrong. But seriously axl rose, is this a joke?? Oh well....even though Freddie is going to win in the end (if he doesn't it would be a disgrace to music but whatever) just the fact that axl was ahead even for a split second makes me sick to my stomach (not kidding). Forget beating Freddie, I'm still surprised that he even got that many votes to begin with....,

Ps. If I had even said a fraction of the true feelings I feel about this whole thing in my recent posts I would have been banned sooner than you can say Freddie rules... I tried to keep a civil tongue and think I managed quite well actually but believe me when I say that I was pretty upset (for lack of a better word).

Wow, I don't even know how to respond to that one. Hmmm.......Axl Rose....Freddie Mercury.....but Axl Rose.....and Freddie Mercury. Nope don't see how they compare. Sorry but at this point I'm still recovering from the fact that Axl Rose, AXL ROSE, had more votes than Freddie at one point. That's just a little too much at once, I'm simply too exhausted (mentally) at the moment. It was kind of like what I imagine a heart attack must be like except it went deeper than my heart. You know I was walking past a store in a mall today and I see Axl staring out at me from a GnR 2008 calender, I walk two more steps and there's an appetite for destruction poster next to it. Off course I don't stop and instead walk quickly past bowing my head because I just couldn't look at it, at him anymore. I'm on the subway home and I read an article in a newspaper about albums coming out in 2008 and there was GnR (AC/DC are coming out with an album as are Queen+PR so that made things a bit better). I come home and I'm watching a movie and what song of all songs do they choose to play well Live and Let Die off course. It was the original though which made it slightly better but obviously I still thought about GnR. I'm later on my pc watching videos from CES and off course I just happen see the one where Bill Gates brings out Slash to play guitar for like 30 seconds. Well I wonder in which band Slash played in once upon a time and with whom...hmmm. At this point I am just so sick seeing them or HIM everywhere (as you probably can imagine). And all this after I saw in this poll that Axl was ahead of Freddie! I just can't take anymore of AXL ROSE and GnR for today OK!

The fact that Axl Rose is even in this contest is ridiculous. The fact that he is running neck and neck with Freddie Mercury is an monstrosity! If he would win that would make him better than Elvis...better than John Lennon...better than (dare I even think it!) Freddie! This is an outrage! I asked my 20 year old son to pick some good rock singers. First he picked Freddie. When I told him about Axl Rose he said that Axl wouldn't have even entered his mind! He'd pick Marilyn Manson before him! The word "singer" means...one with the ability to sing. Singing should be melodious...not shrill. It should touch you...change you...make the moment better. Not make you cringe! I understand that there is a taste for Axl's type of warbling, but it is not mainstream. This contest is to represent ALL of rock and roll! It's a shame there aren't more true singers on the list. Elvis, Harry Nilsson, Chuck Berry (who should have been on the guitarist list as well!), even someone like Rod Stewart. Someone who can carry a tune! Freddie could not only carry a tune, but he could sing ANY type of music! Quite an ability, wouldn't you say? Axl is certainly limited to what he can sing. Does that make his fans limited as well? Axl said that Freddie Mercury was the main influence in his life. If he hadn't had Queen's music to listen to growing up he probably would have gone insane. Don't you think Axl would want Freddie to win? At least Freddie never let his audience down by not showing up or walking off stage!

I'm still surprised (greatly) that he is even a close 2nd and at some point had more votes than Freddie! My question still wasn't answered though and that was HOW? How can Axl Rose of all people be getting as many votes as Freddie Mercury?!?! I still can't believe it, who is voting this much for him??

I love how they're getting physically sick over Axl Rose. Like, they'd physically die if Freddie Mercury got 0 votes and Axl Rose won.

Music elitists such as these piss me off. I kind of wish GnR was still in the competition so some of them would kill themselves. But Bon Jovi will suffice.
