I have the great displeasure of saying that I went to highschool with Kellie Pickler. My sister was in a dance class with her. I had very little interaction with Kellie directly, but I did used to go to the rehearsals for my sister. I remember one day after class had ended everyone was standing around waiting for all the parents to get there to pick up the girls. Kellie was onstage with a few of her friends and the instructor was standing below them. She had been talking to one of the mothers and when finished she looked up at Kellie. She made a comment about something Kellie did in one of the dances. It wasn't mean or criticizing. All she said was something along the lines of, "Oh, Kellie, by the way when you do this on that last line of the song hold it just a little longer, ok?" That was it. As if on cue an embarrassed Kellie DROPPED TO HER KNEES on the stage and started crying hysterically. Then it came: "I try...sobsobsob...but I...sob...I...sob...just can't c oncentrate....sobsobsobsob....because everyone's mom is here! sobsobsob And my mom left me....sobsob...and it's hard for...sob....me....sob....to concentrate with everyone's mom around....sobsobsobsob....because they all look...sob...so happy!" And so on, and so on, and so on. The instructor stood there bewildered, the moms just looked at each other not knowing what to do, and two of Kellie's friends ran to her side and patted and petted her. The rest of the girls all rolled their eyes and mumbled as this was a common occurrence. Can we say: dramatic much? Or should we label it as not being able to handle instructive criticism. I am surprised that she hasn't pulled this stunt on AI yet when one of the judges says something negative. But I am waiting for it.... It will make for fantastic television!

I have to say I auditioned this year for American Idol and out of 6000 people in Denver I made it down to the last 100 along with Ace, Chris and Lisa. The first things they told us is they wanted to have an interview to find out about dirt "Something interesting for TV" they specifically mentioned the season that girl pawned her wedding band to make it to the show and wanted us to bring dirt to the table like that. I was told from producers that I was beautiful with a beautiful voice but I didn't have an interesting enough story for TV ratings and that was the important part of the show. I was not going to willingly give up dirt on myself to embarrass myself just to become famous. The ones with morals and not willing to let it all hang out for TV were given the boot even though we were more talented than most of the ones that made it through. I really saw the true side of Idol this year and it was a wake up call. A lot of very talented people were not put through for th e same reasons as mine. Also when you go to the first audition your yellow piece of paper you receive that gets you to the next round of auditions has a producers name at the bottom. We realized that the rejects went to Nigel and the ones with vocal talent went to Ken Warwick. Ace, Lisa, Chris and I met with Ken Warwick. Idol is a joke. They know exactly who is going to win before the show starts. It was a blessing I didn't make it any further , I don't want a show like that making money off my talents. It's a reality TV show not a talent competition.

Like most of America, I was getting tired of Miss Pickler's "I'm so dumb and country act" , and I had the opportunity to judge the Miss Broward County Pageant (I am a Miss America certified judge and pageant contestant). A few of the judges and I were talking about the show, and Kellie came up. That is when I learned that Miss Pickler had won a Miss America preliminary and had competed in the Miss North Carolina pageant. Well that is when I knew her to be a fake. See, if she brought that country bumpkin stupid act to her prelim she never would have won, unless she was the only contestant, or all the other contestants were dumb as rocks and she was the best of the rocks. When choosing a preliminary winner you are looking for a girl who can win state, and when choosing a state winner you are looking for a girl who can win Miss America. You are looking for a charismatic, well spoken, intelligent individual. A young woman that can think on her feet and represent her local area, state or America. A girl who can be a role model to other young girls - not the stereotype of a backwoods country hick. Shame on you Miss Pickler your act is horrible and demeaning and North Carolina should be ashamed you call it home. First off, I just want to say kudos to your hilarious site. For many nights I have been dragged into the meaningless A.I. show, thanks to a younger sibling, and find myself going grey with boredom. But now, thanks to you, the show has become extremely funny, and I find myself surfing it even when there are no updates. But, to be honest, the most amusing part of your site must be the Mail Bag. Empty threats, uppercased letters, horrid spelling, and all around ignorance seem to run supreme, save for a selected few. For me, this website is a welcome sign that our popular culture is not as doomed as I sometimes find it to be. Why not have some malicious fun at the expense of a television network which is obviously raking in a ton of advertising revenue while they dumb down our culture to an all-time low? It is disturbing to see how seriously some people regard AI in these letters. Who cares who wins the silly thing, anyway? Why would you feel sorry for any of those finalists? They’re having the time of their lives, and probably will get a chance to make a lot of money regardless of whether they win or get bumped off. What’s sad is the realization that this glorified cheesefest is one of the highest rated shows on television, while the same network dumps an excellent comedy like “Arrested Development.” AI is also confirmation of our country’s sheer lack of taste, especially when someone like Catherine, one of this season’s superior vocalists, lands in the bottom three. And seriously, folks, there may never have been a show as out of touch with current trends as Idol. It’s like being trapped in some kind of time warp. And why the obsession with vocalists? What about musicians or songwriters? That’s what this country needs, not another batch of over-hyped pop divas singing crappy songs that lack original melodies. I regard AI as a sport, nothing more; therefore, I see nothing wrong with manipulating the voting process to prop up inferior contestants. Keep up the good work!

I teach high school govt/civics and must share with you the exciting discussion that took place in my classroom today. First of all, I discovered your site a few short weeks ago and was amazed at the following that you all have developed. You made a believer out of me and I have been enjoying it ever since. Now, my students were assigned a late semester report on the ability to affect change, both alone and when people band together. I told them to choose whatever topic they wanted, but to follow some simple guidelines. Much to my surprise, 6 out of 18 students handed in a report about VFTW. I wish I could share each and every report, but let me just say I was quite proud. You are teaching young people that votes do matter, people can affect change when they believe and unite, and just because the mass public believes a certain way that there is nothing and nobody that can keep them from stepping out and speaking up for a different point of view. Kudos to you. I absollutely l ove when young people can learn an idea and concepts because the topic interests them. Whatever works, right?

VFTW is an absolutely brilliant site and I’m happy someone had the smarts and gaul to produce it. VFTW turns the tables on reality television by questioning its very premise and hurling it back into American Idol’s face and hopefully throwing AI on its arse. It is clear that AI has nothing to do about fairness and everything to do about entertainment and cold cash, otherwise we would see a much higher caliber of talent up on stage. I have read so many accounts of very talented people that have been turned away at auditions without even getting to audition properly, while undoubtedly talentless schmucks go on to perform in front of the judges and cameras (and of course to be made fun of in front of the world). Don’t you die hard VFTW haters ever question why this happens? American Idol is not all about truth and fairness, its about entertaining the masses with a mix of talent and train wrecks. I do fancy watching AI, its fun to watch, but in no way is it representative of Amer ica’s talent pool. I feel very sorry for the finalists who have no business being onstage (Kevin, Kellie, Sway, etc.) because they are being used for shits and giggles by AI and were never meant to win since AI undoubtedly has a clear idea of who they want to win from the get-go. So lets turn the game around on AI by voting the least talented through and maybe they will think twice about putting through less talented singers as a source of entertainment and focus on individuals with real talent, regardless of whether or not they are marketable.

According to this site’s front page, Fox calls {Votefortheworst} "hateful" and "mean spirited". The fist time that I tried to become the 'American Idol', I was 200 pounds. I knew it would be hard for me to be compared to Kelly Clarkson, but, I have a great voice, I can always lose the weight. I didn't have a chance in hell! Thay told me "You aren't what an "Idol" should be". My mind of a fat girl, thought, "Oh, they're telling me that I'm a lard-ass."
So, I go home, shed 72 pounds, and viola! I'm for sure gonna make it on season 3! Not a chance in hell. "You've got a great voice, but you're just not marketable. WHAT??!! So I decided to get a make-over, and try again the same season. Well, you just can't sing very well they say. Wait a minute, before, I could sing, but I was too fat, and not cute,. and now, I can't sing anymore??!! ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Imagine my frustration, but, I am a dreamer, and I want to make my dreams come true. Season five is approching, and I have already been rejected from this one as well. I refuse to make a idiot of myself like the girl dressed as 'Wonderwoman', or 'I dream of Jeannie'. I want to be noticed for my talents, not my face, or, how much I weigh. Alas, 'Idol' is not in it for that. Fantasia Barrino can't even read, is that someone young children should idolize? No, but 'American Idol', wants you to make an ass of yourself in front of the world, before they realize you have talent.
I will be too old to try out ever again It kind of relieves me a little. I don't have to worry about eating a donut or two. I can let my roots grow out, and I can get my self-worth back that I lost 5 years ago.

I noticed that you have a counter on your site. I would like to know how many people that visit the site agree with your opinions on the contestants. I have looked at the message boards and I could absolutely care less about what the same few people have to say over and over again. If you have the stones to do it, put up a poll on the main page that asks whether or not the visitors think of your site as a person with absolutely no life, or whether people are there because they think that your site is funny. I personally don’t think that you have the stones to do it, but I would really be interested in the results and then maybe you would realize what a joke this site actually is.

entertainment purposes but the good singers still go
through to Hollywood to compete whether we see them on
the auditions or not. Just because we like to watch a

on many levels, yet downright evil on other levels. However, from your
weekly 'grading' system I see that you can be fair. As so, on behalf of
'decency' I would request that you at least tell the people to 'VOTE

It would be nice to see sensational performances on American Idol's
last season. I say, 'last season' as your actions and the 'current loser

'vote for the good ones.'
Finally, let me say, it is not your place to 'disrupt' because of your
views that this is not a legitimate 'talent show.' Whatever it is, it
gives ordinary kids a chance to become successful. You have no right to
knock them out of that opportunity while making money at their expense.
Why don't you think about that and cease and desist from your 'folly'
that is becoming played out even amidst your increase. What I mean is,
it's one thing to make amusing commentary about the contestants and
judges, but it is just 'wicked and wrong' to play 'god' and knock out
legitimate talent. In spite of all your 'shenanigans' I do think a couple of you are
intelligent enough to want to see true talent knock it out of the
ballpark on a weekly basis. As so, find the decency to tell your
viewers to vote for the 'best' right along with your attack on the 'not so

This is the first time I have ever even heard of this website and I believe that it is a disgrace to American Idol and America altogether. American Idol is a competition of who is the best singer. I'm 13 years old, and there is nothing on this site that I find shocking or vulgar, nothing that I haven't seen before, nothing that I don't say or hear others my own age(or younger) say. Any parents who send in hate mail saying that your site is vulgar and it's a bad influence on kids should take a step back and look at themselves and their children. I do not come from a troubled household, and nor do many of my friends. Many teenagers, and even younger children are hardly as innocent as they appear. Parents who think that VFTW is terrible because there are cussing and sexual references are blind. Television is full of them, so are magazines and almost everything else. Chances are, people who say things like "I wouldn't even think of allowing my children on it," don't really know how their children behave around friends at all, either that, or they have toddlers...
It's a shame Scott got sent home, becuase his squint and terrible singing were amusing. You've gotten hate mail that says you should pick a person who isn't a bad influence...well that's not your problem. Fox was begging for trouble when they let the ass continue to compete...badly, I might add. Also, any children who think that just because a fat boy with a squint who can't sing well beat his girlfriend, then it's okay for them to do it also probably haven't been parented well. If parents are so worried that their child will start beating their signifigant other because Scott did, then they should just not let them watch American Idol, and leave VFTW alone, it's not your fault. I've been watching your site all season and I think it's fantastic. I prefer reading episode recaps and following sites like this to actually watching AI. Why not have as much fun as possible with such an over-produced and useless show? If it was about music, if contestants were encouraged to accompany themselves, or write their own music, then I would feel (maybe) like there's some form of artistic integrity involved. As it is, it's karaoke and I like karaoke best when I'm drunk and everyone else in the bar is screaming along with the chorus and dancing on tables. So I heard that a couple of viral marketing guys were hired by one of the competing networks to jump on this “anti-idol-voting” bandwagon last week. The thinking being, if they help you crown an idiot as the top idol, or even the #2 guy, it basically breaks the voting component of the show and, to a large degree, the show itself. Well, I thought I'd take just a second to tell you that I love your site. (I'm being serious). I'm a 24 year old banking and investment adviser. Perfectly intelligent and mature (usually.) You know what the best part of the whole site is though? The angry e-mails from people swearing to shut you down by "this time tomorrow". I watch American Idol only occasionally (If I can't find anything else to do, basically) But because I often find myself bored at work, I visit their message board regularly. I eventually started voting for Scott simply because every one on that board is crazy... and it would be funny if the worst singer won... Look, I understand you have a point you are enjoying proving, and you want to have fun. Its pretty obvious AI pimps and shoves who they want down our throats. However, I think you are wrong to pick a contestant to vote for that is an abuser and talks back in an unprofessional manner. What if some kid who plays this game starts to think Scotts behavior is acceptable and abuses another child in school or the home? My daughter Allyson, who will be 6 years old in June, just started watching AI for the first time this year. Like me, she is passionate about things and people she believes in. As soon as Anwar was announced to go, she broke out in loud sobs and finally cried herself to sleep about 30 minutes after the show. She saw in Anwar a beautiful, sweet human being who has an amazing voice (she's listened to him song What a Wonderful World about 100 times now). Evidently, a huge majority of Americans are not voting on the performers' ability to sing and that is just a sad state of affairs. She got a quick lesson in life not being fair tonight and my heart is broken for her. So thanks a lot to all of you who are voting for people just because you feel sorry for them. What a lesson for my baby to have to learn. I won't make the mistake of letting her watch ever again and getting attached to people who actually have talent!

First of all, I was a big fan of both Bo and Nadia. I SO wanted a Bo/Nadia finale because I thought they were the two most talented performers, and they have been getting the lion's share of my votes until Nadia got booted. Now its mostly Bo, with a share of votes for Scott so that the VFTW advances. So there is no conspiracy on my part. I've only thrown Anthony maybe 10 votes during the entire finals, and I've NOT ONCE voted for Crapstantine or Carrie-Okie, the two (my opinion) producer favorites. For me, its not just that the whole VFTW concept is hilarious. Its because, instead of objectively judging the finalists and giving them equal TV time, etc., (coughJoeMurenaJessicaSierracough), The Three Stooges at the behest of Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick attempt to steer the audience into voting for a "chosen" person. This has happened EVERY SEASON, including the first, although thankfully in the first season their campaign didn't work (nothing against Tamyra Gray, by the way). If The Stooges want to praise a performance, fine, but starting with the second season, when they started lying (especially Simon Cowell) that some of Ruben's suckwind performances were great, people started getting pissed. I'm no Claymate, but the infamous "Vincident" was another low point, as well as the mindf***ing of George Huff last year, which Bo (probably scripted) didn't fall for this week. Simon admitted to Newsweek magazine in 2003 that he purposely overpraised Ruben's singing and underpraised Kimberley Locke's because he wanted Ruben in the final two. VFTW is for me, my response to bullspit like that. Based on all these unnecessary attempts of manipulation by the show, speaking for myself, voting for the VFTW candidate is my way of saying to the producers that this is the reaction you are going to get based on your actions. Tit for tat. This show is so stupid at times, so why not mess with it? Why not put a finger in the eye of the number one rated show on TV. Maybe if they have to give Scott a recording contract, put him on The Today Show and TRL, they'll finally learn their lesson to stop telling the audience who to vote for.
