Let's Hear It One More Time

Posted by thefunnystone on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 7:19 PM EDT

Last night, American Idol produced its most entertaining performances in months. It's not how they intended either. The duets and trio that performed last night were so mind numbingly terrible, it was some of the most entertaining train wreck TV ever. And the best performance hands down goes to Jessica, Joshua, and Hollie, who pissed all over Kelly Clarkson's Stronger. Hollie was surprisingly the least offensive of the group and didn't contribute the laughs as much as the other 2. Jessica was entertaining for the first time this season, because it was truly Jessica who sounded the most horrific. So in honor of Idol finally being entertaining, enjoy this performance one more time. And remember, one of these horrible singers is going to win a recording contract. Let's hope it's the white guy with the guitar. If not, any of these 3 will do too.

Tonight Will Apparently Be a "Shocking Result"

Posted by thefunnystone on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 7:42 PM EDT

According to TMZ, there will be a shocking result tonight where one of the favorites will be voted off. Yawn. We called this whole thing yesterday. They had to use the save this week so that the show would run the correct number of weeks so they're changing the results tonight to make them shocking. At least we finally got them to use the save. Then VFTW can really get down to business making sure WGWG5 wins.

It's WGWG Time - Vote for Phillip Phillips! 1-866-436-5706

Phillip Phillips White Guy With a Guitar

First of all, Idol, more duos and trios! Those were the most putrid, off key performances of the season. All 3 group performances entertained the hell out of me. I can't even pick which one I loved the most. Keep it up, the show is finally funny.

Back to our regularly scheduled post... now that all of the obvious contestants are gone, it's time for VFTW to get down to business and do what we came to do. It is time for us to crown the 5th White Guy With a Guitar winner in a row! Nothing will distract us from our goal to make WGWG #5 the new winner so that the winner is exactly what we've gotten the last 4 years. The most fun we have every season is making sure that a white guy wins the season to help put the nail in Idol's coffin.

After Phillip's horrifically VFTW worthy duet with Elise, it really wasn't a tough decision. Phillip has the same performance every week, so he most certainly deserves to become the same Idol winner we've come to support here round these parts. It's time to make sure Phillip gets into the finale and that Joshua and Jessica don't.

It's no longer about the week to week, it's now time to make sure we piss everyone off with the same exact winner who has won over and over. Also, the producers watch this site way too closely. If we pick Phillip, Hollie will somehow not be the lowest vote getter (so the producers can say VFTW had nothing to do with saving her) and they'll finally waste the save this week on someone else. Count on it. Win win!

Even With a Current Theme, Idols Pick Horrible Songs - Top 7 Song Spoilers

Posted by thefunnystone on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 1:40 PM EDT

The list of songs for this week was tweeted, and as we figured, they're almost all terrible. Maybe one or two are interesting, but the rest make for an awful show. These Idol contestants have the worst taste in music that we've ever seen! Feel free to guess who sings what, but does it really matter? And at least there's an upside - no one picked Adele!

Holy, airbrushing Batman. Carrie is actually a good looking woman, why Photoshop her to death? Awful! Best blow job album title pun in this post's comments wins a pat on the back.

DeAndre Eliminated. Who's Next?

Posted by Insane on Thursday, April 05, 2012 at 9:17 PM EDT

Well, it was a fun week...oh, let's face it, it was a week. And now DeAndre has been eliminated, and it's time to come up with a new pick. What's funny is that any of these contestants would be a contender if they were in the Top 7 of many earlier seasons. So think of it this way: whoever we choose can give us VFTW gold in one way or another. Who do you think should be next?

The Theme For The Top 7 is Songs From This Decade

Posted by thefunnystone on Saturday, April 07, 2012 at 12:45 AM EDT

The top 7 will be singing songs from the current decade (2010-2012). Finally - a current theme! Though knowing these boring contestants, they will likely either all choose Adele songs or they'll all pick super old songs that were covered in the past 2 years.

Please, contestants. You can do this. More Ke$ha, less Taylor Swift.

Vote for DeAndre Brackensick and His Falsetto - 1-866-436-5701

Posted by thefunnystone on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 at 9:59 PM EDT

DeAndre Brackensick

DeAndre Brackensick brought out the falsetto again tonight and we'll bring out the votes. So make sure to dial 1-866-436-5701 for him tonight. Since he was in the death spot, he'll need a lot of support to make it past tomorrow. He'll be in real danger. We can only hope that one of the girls will go instead by picking a bad song. DeAndre deserves to stay and falshitto all over many more songs before his time is up.

Remember, dial 1-866-436-5701, vote at AmericanIdol.com, and text VOTE to 5701 if you have AT&T.

Next week is probably a current theme and "Whip My Hair" by Willow Smith is on the cleared song list. Whip My Hair + DeAndre = Perfection. Please help him get there.

Gwen Stefani and Some Guy From No Doubt Mentor The Top 8

Posted by thefunnystone on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 3:16 PM EDT

Gwen Stefani and some other guy from No Doubt are mentoring the top 8 for the 1980's theme week. This is actually good news. If you remember Gwen Stefani's involvement last year, she dressed the season 10 women up as tacky hookers and it ended up getting Pia Toascano eliminated. And if you remember way back to season 6 when one of the themes was literally Songs Gwen Stefani Likes (seriously), we got the gem in the video above. So basically, everything Gwen Stefani touches turns to shit. And we couldn't be more excited. Please, please help make this season interesting, Gwen.
