Canadians wrote us plenty of letters during AI4, begging us to bring VFTW north of the border. So, of course, we did! Off to a slow start, we couldn't drum up much support in early rounds to help advance the awful Dave Moffatt to the finals. In the semi-final rounds, we noticed a girl who had no stage presence, sang out of tune, and basically resembled a lifeless corpse on stage. That lucky girl was Casey LeBlanc, the new VFTW pick. As support grew, Casey (or "Corpsey LeBland" as we called her here) began to outlast the other contestants. The thing about CI3, though, was that everyone besides Amber, Melissa, and Ashley sucked. Still, with the help of VFTW and those crazy New Brusnwickians, Casey kept continuing on in the competition, butchering "Like a Prayer", "Heaven Help Us All", and shouting the funniest bum note in Idol history during "I Could Write a Book". Casey was the VFTW pick for an unprecedented 6 weeks, setting a new record! She finally met her match in the top 5 and was sent packing. We tried to help Suzi Rawn in the top 4 after she brutally decimated Elvis's "Can't Help Falling in Love", but she had almost no fans by that point and was sent packing. We then helped Rex Goudie because he was by far one of the worst Idol contestants ever. TrainRex shouted songs with no emotion and would have made a laughable Idol, but in the end, talent won out, and the only good singer in the top 7 won. Rex finished in 2nd place, not too shabby, and VFTW had one of its most memorable seasons ever.

As American Idol 4 started up, VFTW realized we were in for some big fun. In the semi-final rounds, we picked Constantine Maroulis and Janay Castine as our VFTW candidates. Constantine was the worst kind of faux rocker, he was less convincing as a rocker than even Ryan Seacrest would be. Janay was nicknamed Janaybot by VFTW for her robotic arm movements. They both offered up some truly awful moments, especially when Janay decided to tackle "Hit Em Up Style". Janay advanced for 3 weeks before being sent packing, all the while Idol fans wondered how the hell she stayed in so long. Constantine sucked his way into the finals. Once the top 12 came along, VFTW supported Mikalah Gordon, as her fun personality started to grate on the judges. Her vocals weakened and she began to get worse by the week, lasting until the top 11. We went back to Constantine for the top 10, but ket our eyes on Scott Savol. Word was t hen released that Scott had thrown a phone at his baby mama, and the tagboard was soon flooded with requests that we switch to Scott. We did, and the rest is history. Scott began to survive week after week while more talented contestants like Nadia Turner fell by the wayside. Each week, newspaper headlines wondered "Why the hell is Scott still around?" and the website picked up more supporters each week. Just before the final 6 performances, the website was getting tens of thousands of hits a day, and VFTW was bigger than ever. Scott butchered his song from the current decade, "Dance With My Father", and most people expected it to be his last. The next day's results show brought about one of the biggest shocks in Idol history- Scott was in the top 3 and ex-VFTWer Constantine was sent home. Constantine had become a favorite to win, and America was flabbergasted. VFTW then started getting over 100,000 hits a day and even more people jumped aboard. Then, the inevitable happened . Whether it was caused by an overload of traffic or foul play, the VFTW website went down a few hours before Scott was to give his final 5 performance. Scott was eliminated the next day. No one knows whether VFTWers were confused by the site's absence so they stopped voting, or whether even VFTW couldn't beat out the top 4 fanbases. But suddenly Scott was gone and VFTW shed a single tear. We tried to help the doomed Anthony Fedorov in the top 4, but he was also sent home. Lastly, we supported Carrie Underwood for the last 2 weeks. The obvious week link among the talented Bo Bice and Vonzell Solomon, Carrie was the oblivious Oklahoman that had the stage presence of a marionette. Carrie edged out the heavily favored Bo in the finale to win the title of American Idol, and many wonder to this day if the VFTW votes were what caused her to edge out Bo for the win.

Scott knows about this site by now, but I'm sure you don't care. As a political science professor I am aware of your First Amendment rights, as well as the KKK's. I am also aware that the more indignent the comments, the happier you are. You just did Constantine a big favor. I don't feel bad for him, he has too many female fans, including myself. He will go far because he is talented and absolutely gorgeous!!!! Which I'm sure just eats you raw. You'll never have that kind of praise, except from idiots like yourself.

This is the first time I have ever even heard of this website and I believe that it is a disgrace to American Idol and America altogether. American Idol is a competition of who is the best singer. I'm 13 years old, and there is nothing on this site that I find shocking or vulgar, nothing that I haven't seen before, nothing that I don't say or hear others my own age(or younger) say. Any parents who send in hate mail saying that your site is vulgar and it's a bad influence on kids should take a step back and look at themselves and their children. I do not come from a troubled household, and nor do many of my friends. Many teenagers, and even younger children are hardly as innocent as they appear. Parents who think that VFTW is terrible because there are cussing and sexual references are blind. Television is full of them, so are magazines and almost everything else. Chances are, people who say things like "I wouldn't even think of allowing my children on it," don't really know how their children behave around friends at all, either that, or they have toddlers...
It's a shame Scott got sent home, becuase his squint and terrible singing were amusing. You've gotten hate mail that says you should pick a person who isn't a bad influence...well that's not your problem. Fox was begging for trouble when they let the ass continue to compete...badly, I might add. Also, any children who think that just because a fat boy with a squint who can't sing well beat his girlfriend, then it's okay for them to do it also probably haven't been parented well. If parents are so worried that their child will start beating their signifigant other because Scott did, then they should just not let them watch American Idol, and leave VFTW alone, it's not your fault. I've been watching your site all season and I think it's fantastic. I prefer reading episode recaps and following sites like this to actually watching AI. Why not have as much fun as possible with such an over-produced and useless show? If it was about music, if contestants were encouraged to accompany themselves, or write their own music, then I would feel (maybe) like there's some form of artistic integrity involved. As it is, it's karaoke and I like karaoke best when I'm drunk and everyone else in the bar is screaming along with the chorus and dancing on tables. So I heard that a couple of viral marketing guys were hired by one of the competing networks to jump on this “anti-idol-voting” bandwagon last week. The thinking being, if they help you crown an idiot as the top idol, or even the #2 guy, it basically breaks the voting component of the show and, to a large degree, the show itself. And taking down the juggernaut, for a competing network, is almost as good as beating it honestly. You know what the best part of the whole site is though? The angry e-mails from people swearing to shut you down by "this time tomorrow". I watch American Idol only occasionally (If I can't find anything else to do, basically) But because I often find myself bored at work, I visit their message board regularly. Look, I understand you have a point you are enjoying proving, and you want to have fun. Its pretty obvious AI pimps and shoves who they want down our throats. However, I think you are wrong to pick a contestant to vote for that is an abuser and talks back in an unprofessional manner. My daughter Allyson, who will be 6 years old in June, just started watching AI for the first time this year. Like me, she is passionate about things and people she believes in. As soon as Anwar was announced to go, she broke out in loud sobs and finally cried herself to sleep about 30 minutes after the show. She saw in Anwar a beautiful, sweet human being who has an amazing voice (she's listened to him song What a Wonderful World about 100 times now). Evidently, a huge majority of Americans are not voting on the performers' ability to sing and that is just a sad state of affairs. She got a quick lesson in life not being fair tonight and my heart is broken for her. So thanks a lot to all of you who are voting for people just because you feel sorry for them. What a lesson for my baby to have to learn. I won't make the mistake of letting her watch ever again and getting attached to people who actually have talent!

First of all, I was a big fan of both Bo and Nadia. I SO wanted a Bo/Nadia finale because I thought they were the two most talented performers, and they have been getting the lion's share of my votes until Nadia got booted. Now its mostly Bo, with a share of votes for Scott so that the VFTW advances. So there is no conspiracy on my part. I've only thrown Anthony maybe 10 votes during the entire finals, and I've NOT ONCE voted for Crapstantine or Carrie-Okie, the two (my opinion) producer favorites. For me, its not just that the whole VFTW concept is hilarious. Its because, instead of objectively judging the finalists and giving them equal TV time, etc., (coughJoeMurenaJessicaSierracough), The Three Stooges at the behest of Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick attempt to steer the audience into voting for a "chosen" person. This has happened EVERY SEASON, including the first, although thankfully in the first season their campaign didn't work (nothing against Tamyra Gray, by the way). If The Stooges want to praise a performance, fine, but starting with the second season, when they started lying (especially Simon Cowell) that some of Ruben's suckwind performances were great, people started getting pissed. I'm no Claymate, but the infamous "Vincident" was another low point, as well as the mindf***ing of George Huff last year, which Bo (probably scripted) didn't fall for this week. Based on all these unnecessary attempts of manipulation by the show, speaking for myself, voting for the VFTW candidate is my way of saying to the producers that this is the reaction you are going to get based on your actions. Tit for tat. This show is so stupid at times, so why not mess with it? Why not put a finger in the eye of the number one rated show on TV. Maybe if they have to give Scott a recording contract, put him on The Today Show and TRL, they'll finally learn their lesson to stop telling the audience who to vote for.

I found your website at the beginning of the season, but I wan't going to vote for Mikalah like you asked because she has done very well lately and has started to become one of the better contestants. On the other hand if we can keep Janay in a few more weeks that would just knock out a ton of good people....our goal right? Last week I voted 949 times for her!

Votefortheworst.com was started shortly prior to American Idol 3, and it started to pick up steam as the season began. With no prior support and virtually no audience, VFTW struggled to convert people to the fun side. The first ever VFTW pick was Jennifer "Boomie" Hudson for her crazy outfits and over the top singing style. Votes for Boomie and contestants like the terrible Briana Ramirez-Rial and Lisa Wilson didn't accomplish much. But we realized America loved bad performances as much as us when our wildcard pick, Jon Peter Lewis was voted into the finals after his truly horrific performance of "A Little Less Conversation".

In the top 12, we first targeted Leah Labelle when she butchered "You Keep Me Hangin On". She was voted out that first week. Then we jumped on board the Matt Rogers train when he ruined Lonestar's "Amazed". He was also voted out. We realized that without getting the word out about our goals, we were probably doomed to fail. Then, we chose red-haired crooner John Stevens. He ruined the classic "My Girl" by boring the audience to death. For the first time, our pick stayed in the competition! We were so excited, and Teen Martin didn't let us down. The following week, he sang "Crocodile Rock", his voice cracking hysterically as he reached for the falsetto notes. We continued to throw support behind him and people started noticing the website. Hate mail started pouring in and little tweenyboppers started the very first threats to shut down the site. The following week, John ended up in the top 3. Ironically, first VFTW pick Jennifer Hudson was eliminated after becoming way too good for the VFTW pledge and establishing herself as one of the front runners. A frenzy erupted, and people all over the country called for John Stevens' head on a platter. John stayed in the competition one more week to bore the audience with a Gloria Estefan tune, and he was inevitably sent packing.

VFTW then latched onto Jasmine Trias, the tone deaf 17 year old from Hawaii. Thanks to help from Hawaii, Jasmine also began to outlast better contestants. In the final 4, Jasmine mutiliated "It's Raining Men" and started crying crodocile tears to gain sympathy votes. We voted as hard as we could, and Jasmine stuck around while the incredibly talented LaToya London was sent packing. Jasmine stayed in one more week to finish in 3rd place, and VFTW retired for the season.

Look man, there's a big difference between not liking a contestant and being a real jackass about it. Keep it up, whatever you're doing, and you'll come to the conclusion that you have nothing but an empty, black heart.
