Moxie, I thought of the Heatmiser too! But I really just think she looked like all of those old ladies who get those red rinses and the color is blindingly bright and unnatural.

That whole performance was "unnatural." To say the least.

Well, I can't remember who WFTW's pick was back when Burrito won but that whole season pretty much sucked after the two who could sing (Jennifer &; LaToya) got booted for being jerks. Mantasia sure summed up this whole season. A completely entertaining Suckfest! Regardless, she sure did us proud!

Did anyone get a capture of that face? We had to watch it several times, slow-mo even better. (Hi Beckeye)

Well, aren't YOU a big ball of class, SimonCrow.

Far be it from me to fault Fantasia for having enough meat on her bones that a light breeze won't blow her away. I agree that the hairstyle was not flattering. The song was supposed to be very angry, but even for that, she did too much screeching instead of singing.

In my opinion, she is suffering from stage damage. The rule of thumb for acting is that on film, less is more; on the stage, more is more. She seemed to be giving her performance on Idol the same amount of energy she was used to giving on Broadway, which of course looked over-the-top on TV.
