Emmys Suck, Idol Wins Nothing

Last night's Emmys were panned, but at least they had a modicum of taste. American Idol lost best reality competition show to The Amazing Race, and Ryan Seacrest lost best host to Jeff Probst. The ratings were even down; the show received its lowest ratings ever in the 18-49 age group. Ouch. But it was the hosting job that seemed to come under fire the most. Seacrest hosted the show along with the 4 other Best Reality Show Host nominees, and it was universally panned as a bad job. At least Seacrest came off better than some of the others, but he really shouldn't quit his day job. Or jobs, however many million he has now.

Surprise surprise. Yet another sign where American Idol is becoming more and more like "yesterdays news".

Good riddance.

Only thing good out of this competition is VFTW.

As long as Amazing Race is nominated AI will always lose. That, and considering it was mostly low rated niche cable shows up for awards, why anyone outside of Hollyweird want to tune in?
