Daughtry's Bleating "Feels Like The First Time"

Daughtry recorded a version of "Feels Like the First Time" for CNN to encourage first time voters to register. Hey tool, this song has nothing to do with voting. It's almost as bad as his video for "What About Now" that takes a boring love song and tries to make it important about global problems. Daughtry is far too self-centered and idiotic to care about anyone but himself. He must have a smart manager trying to do damage control.

What a fucking idiot. This song has nothing, NOTHING to do with voting. It's a song about a guy who falls in love for the first time after fucking multiple chicks over the course of his lifetime. Is the line, "I guess it's just the woman in you, that brings out the man in me" supposed to be directed towards Palin? Gag.

OK, I dislike Daughtry as much as the rest, and yes, this is a stretched metaphor, but...it IS a metaphor. A song doesn't have to literally be about the message they're trying to convey. Just cuz he's a lousy artist, it doesn't mean we have to intentionally misunderstand the metaphor. The central metaphor is that excercising your right to vote for the first time feels like your first fuck, ok? And, on that note, I'm fucking for Obama. Now let's all get out there and FUCK.

Voting for the first time IS like fucking for the first time. You fumble around making sure you're doing everything right...it lasts thirty seconds...and then you end up crying for thirty minutes when it's all over.

Well, that's how my first vote felt. I voted for Kerry.
