I don't know, I think Melinda is being smart and realizing she shouldn't even waste her time trying to court young audiences or radio. She's going for an older crowd (who are surprisingly still in the business of actually buying albums) and hoping for a modest adult contemporary crowd. She was always one of the few likable Idols so maybe I'm just being naive and hopeful for her.

I never liked her. Her stupid phony "who ME?" act whenever the judges licked her ass was a big part of that.

Melinda's new CD, Coming Back To You, will be released in January '09. The single, It's Your Love, will be released very soon. Trust me, there is nothing boring about her music. I heard several of the songs from the new CD, including the new single, when she performed in Nashville last month, and they are all AMAZING. There was no shortage of applause for this rising Super Star. I look forward to a long and very rich career for this genuinely kind and super talented woman.

I usually let nonsense comments like these die of loneliness, but apparently I have stumbled upon their graveyard. So... Sticks and stones may break real bones but cyber-snark won't hurt Melinda's sales! :-p Yeah, I know: the poetic rhythm is off but so are the negative comments about Melinda. All this W-O-M-A-N has done is dare to be excellent (voice, performance and down-to-earth demeanor), as well as model a genuine humility (because she knows who blessed her with her talent and she ain't about to mess it up like many before her); but that has been enough to bring out the little people who call cyberspace home: cyber-phantoms/haters-with-no-life-of-their-own who live to be as mean as possible to other people (especially people doing something positive with their lives). I was in Nashville when Melinda performed songs from her CD and I can tell you that Our Girl appeals to a wider demographic than any one contestant in AI history or for that matter in recent music history; real people were digging Melinda in the real world and she will have a long, successful real career. (Apologies to Willie Shakespeare) As for all of you haters: your comments are "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." (From Macbeth)

Hey Melindatards. Stop being so defensive. All we said is your girl is boring. And she is. Check back with us when her album fails to sell.

I'll admit I was a Melinda fan on the show (Shrek shoulda trumped Jorbacca), but this...wasn't the best showcase of her talent. One question...is this a gospel song?
