Actually, I think it's better than Daughtry. At least it sounds different than Nickleback

Light On is probably the worst song out of all of them, even though they are all huge pieces of shit

Not quite an epic fail. Just boring as fuck, which is probably worse. Ballads are boring, Chile!

If you dance with the devil ... lol, anyway, I was a bit disappointed in that I know they had some good songs that obviously didn't make the 19E cut. Optimistic to Fault is a really cool song, has an interesting sound and never got released. If 19E is producing you generally have to expect at least 80% of the songs to slightly snooze inducing. All you can really hope for is one or two possible rays of light. I'll hold out on full critique, because I actually kinda liked the second song they did on SNL ... and the snippet of Bar Bi Sol or whatever shows some promise. I disagree with anyone who thinks Daughtry in any way rocks hard though ... At least a decent number of Cooks songs were in an actual rock time count, with good drums.

The thing with Idol is that even though I kind of liked DC on the show, I have NO interest in hearing the album that the Idol cronies wrote for him. Or even his first album that came out a couple of years ago. Some people are good singers, but when they're actually experienced in the biz and didn't make it, well, it's because being a good singer isn't enough - you need somebody to be writing good MUSIC. A lot of the most legendary rock icons can't sing very well (I'm talking to YOU Roger Daltrey and Ozzy Osbourne) but they have good music and something intangible that makes you like their sound even though it's not "textbook" good. The "plants" and "semi-pros" on Idol sound great as cover bands..... but stick them out on their own and they're lost, because they can't write decent songs, and don't even know what's decent music when they hear it. A good cover band does not necessarily make a good "artist".

Its Clay Aiken with a little more edge, or Pearl Jam without any edge. Hence, Nickelback clone. If I wasn't told those songs were by David Cook, I would never be able to guess. Pop emo drek all sounds alike. The first song was good, but it went WAY downhill from there. This is the perfect example as to why I want all of my favorite rock bands to avoid AI like a death wish, because when it comes to destroying musical creativity, it is. But, I gotta admit, the puppy on Track 9 was ding-dang cute!!!

The thing with Idol is that even though I kind of liked DC on the show, I have NO interest in hearing the album that the Idol cronies wrote for him. The thing is, DC did write all of the tracks on the album other than Light On. Which is probably why RCA chose that as the lead single. I don't think the Idol cronies can be blamed for this one. I think it sounds like Analog Heart 2.0. He was never a hard rocker, not on the show and not off it.

The CD will go 2X Platinum. Is it as good as Daughtry's? No. However, There are a few songs that will fit Modern-Rock and AC Radio. You and I both know that RCA and 19E will not only promote the bejeezus out of it, but will back the armored car to the entrances of every Program Director of these two formats. Made Josiah's climb that much harder. I hope Warners throw enough sand on the rails.
