19 Entertainment Drops Jordin Sparks

19 Entertainment has decided to terminate its management relationship with half girl/half beast Jordin Sparks. Jorbacca puts out 3 hit songs and they still shitcan her? She must have done something pretty big! She's not dropped from her label 19 Recordings, but the Idol people will no longer manage her. Maybe it was one too many lessons about purity rings? Or maybe she ruined the entire catering budget in one meal? No wait... Simon Fuller saw Jorbacca in her hideous new clothing line. Either way, it's probably mutually beneficial, because 19E sucks almost as much as Jorbacca, and they both can probably do better.

19e can only handle 1 hit artist at a time. Now that they have David Cook charting, they have no use for the half girl/half beast that is Jorbaca.

19 Entertainment- please be careful about where you drop such heavy objects.

Jordin Sparks wasn't supposed to win. Melinda peaked too early, LaKiKi messed up too much near the end, Blake got stuck in the 80s.

Jordin won by default, in that the two that should have won as evidenced by their strong performances early-on, either suffered burnout or bad advice.

When the wrong contestant wins, record sales show (see season 5 - Daughtry should have won, Taylor Hicks did and his sales were not up to "winner" status).

As for dropping her, it's the economy. All companies are going to make cuts and I think it has nothing to do with her appearance, her clothing line, her sales, etc. It's just that they need to roll out the red carpet for the next Idol and they can't spend their time and resources Jordin --- they have another "Jordin" (preferably another "Daughtry" or another "Carrie" or another "Kelly") to invest in.

badger, you have a terribly inflated opinion of the "graduates" of AI. Not a one of them will have any staying power or leave a lasting impression in music, with the possible exception of Kelly Clarkson. The rest are textbook flashes in the pan, if that. I actually find it encouraging that the music-buying public doesn't fall lockstep in line with whatever AI peddles.

So says The Leader! :P

Vocal problems at the start of an Alicia Keys tour = FAIL

Maybe, Jordin can be David Foster's next AI charity case.

Oh my god, do you know what this means? Pocket Tool is still signed to 19E. What is this? A belated VFTW victory, or a very depressing/humorous event?

Either way, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Lol I love Smartie's comment.

Seriously though, who really bought an album by an animal that only won by default? It's not like teenage guys would actually hit that and buy her album. So much for those purity rings. :)
