TMZ reports that the Idol big wigs contacted Paula Rehabdul before her David Letterman appearance to tell her to stop knocking them. Paula is upset that Paula Goodspeed was allowed on Idol despite her protests. Can we all just agree that the Idol producers and Pauler should take this feud to a desert island and never come back?

Why, pray tell, am I NOT surprised? American Idol has gotten so big and political, I'm surprised it hasn't started forming its own country. Better yet, its own religion and its own GOD. The GOD in AI are the producers. As a human being, not even Paula can have her say on her concerns and rights for her safety, and it's pissing me off more and more as I read into this story! Paula may be "strange" in some ways, but I would never wish any harm towards her. The producers on the other hand don't give a damn about other people's safety. Only thing they care about is "their safety" on the running of the show and the money that piles in. "Just as long it doesn't happen to us and our money-making series".

NEW YORK (AP) -- Former ''American Idol'' producer Nigel Lythgoe has fired back at criticism by Paula Abdul that the show put her in peril by allowing an alleged stalker to audition.

Lythgoe says in an interview posted on People magazine's Web site: ''You do not take somebody in that room that you believe is a danger to herself or a danger to Paula. That would not enter our heads.''

Abdul, one of the ''Idol'' judges, claimed during an interview with Barbara Walters on her Sirius XM radio show that producers knew Paula Goodspeed had stalked her, and allowed her to audition anyway.

Goodspeed was found dead of an apparent suicide in a car near Abdul's Los Angeles home last month.

Lythgoe says he remembers Goodspeed as ''a lovely girl'' and ''a great fan of Paula.''

I think Lythgoe has the makings of a new reality show here - where lovely stalkers and their prey get set-up to meet in hotel banquet halls for "auditions," in violation of orders of protection. Hilarity ensues.
