American Idol 8 Top 50 Spoiler - Danny Gokey

I have been a fan of this site for only a short time. I was loving it at first, but started thinking. My gosh, there are so many wrong things in this world, and problems, Cops giving there life to protect us, troops over seas to protect our right of the freedom of speach.... And this is what it has boiled down to. All of us on this site, including myself, bashing people.... for what!? To hurt someone? To bash people for not giving up? To destroy something? I have come to realize that this show was meant for entertainment... Why do we even care, If we are so mad that people like Danny Gokey, JoPlanta, And all of the others are on the show.... Why watch? It isnt making sence to me. I Am a little emotional today and being realistic. I have just lost someone in my life. Why waste time bashing people and hurting people, when you can actually help people. It is a bad day for me, which I am sure we all have. This American Idol, is just like any other job, or person out there trying to survive and become employed. If you believe in something and you have a dream, you wouldnt stop at anything, until you accomplish it. I dont believe in these plants so you all call them. They all have gotten this far because they obviously have talent. And for some to say such nasty and horrible things, must mean they have tried out for the show and failed, they have talent and are just to scared to try out, or who have talent but ended up married with like 10 kids and is unable to achieve there dream. So what if they have a past, and so what if they are fighting and not giving up. People are judging people and not even giving them a chance. UGH this just got me.... bashing a guy whose wife passed away... I mean how low can you get!!!??? It is just sad. And anyone else with a heart on this site would probably say the same. Like I said this show is for "entertainment" purposes. If your not entertained... dont watch it. I thought this site was so that people could talk about things in an adult manner.... seems to me Some of us need to start a new website. I wish all of the contestants luck, and may the best talent win.

I agree with what you are saying but it does no good to say it on here. Most people on this site are very contradictory so you're never going to win your argument even if you are right.

Don't waste your time writing here. Deal with your grief and move on. If you feel so self-righteous and morally superior, don't click on this page. Trust me, it will help a lot.

So whoring out your dead wife to become a famous singer is a good thing now? I feel bad for Danny's loss, his wife seems like she was a nice woman, but he's using the story to become famous. That's kind of sad.

If you going to be in the entertainment business you kinda got to be tuff skinned. There is just no way everyone is going to sing praises to you all the time. Remember there is no such thing as bad press its all good.

I completely agree that the sob story contestants do always get through to Hollywood, but is it maybe a little hasty to always assume that it was their intention? I can't bring myself to believe that every single one of these people is that malicious that they use their tragedies to get further on the show. This guy seemed sincere when he told the story about his wife and I think that he's a good singer. And he's from Milwaukee so there's NO way that he could be a plant. These are all good things, right? For now, I'm happy that he made the top 50. Because God, yes, we despise this show... but I don't want to write off someone who actually seems like a genuine, undiscovered talent. Not yet anyway.

He's definitely whoring the story. Why else would you send video footage of your wedding to the producers, that's low in my book. And I don't like him. Besides one second he was crying to the camera and when he went into the room to see the judges he seemed fine and belted out a I Heard It Through The Grapevine.

If he comes to Hollywood with a picture of her on his shirt or dedicates a song to her then he is definetly using it to get him to the next rounds, only time will tell.

This guy seems pretty legit... good voice.. ya he has a sob story but hey... its better than no story at all... If I had a story like that I would tell it too.. would I use it to get votes well sure! it works! At least on the show... didn't get Fantasia anywhere afterwards.. hey I heard that Fantasia is selling her house? Anyone know if this is true or not?
