Coz his voice is amazing (if you think it's mediocre, legit you really haven't heard him sing a lot. Why would Simon lie and say he was so good?), and he's nicer and more considerate and humble than any of you could ever dream of being. It's called being a good person, and actually having a celebrity role model. ;]

I think people like him because they've been played by the Idol machine. The show is pure manipulation, designed to draw you into caring about these people with phony sob-stories and crocodile tears. Because of the "voting," people feel they have some sort of personal connection with the contestants, and feel somehow responsible for their success. It's a clever formula.

Some us just choose not to drink the Kool-Aid.

(Ive put this out before but sums up my feelings for the whole thing)

I do it for the sheer principle and choice really....if I want to listen to a 3rd rate hack karaoke singer on tv during MY free time ...then Im not going to be forced by ANYBODY into drinking the Kool-Aid of:

Ok, first off let me just say that I love this website. It gives me so much joy to come here and read the stupidity that often flows so freely. Please, continue on and provide me with much amusement.

Second, I happen to be a fan of Archuleta, and I can tell you, while this photo would not be considered risque if it were of any other person, the fact that it shows sweet, little, innocent Archie in a bed has implications of things often considered grossly inappropriate among his fans. I love the fact that it was posted here, though. I literally laughed out loud when i was scanning the page and saw this.

Finally, I don't see how you all can continue to bash his music when I'm sure you haven't gone beyond listening to his singles. Crush is a sugary pop single, of course. That's a huge portion of his audience. Have any of you tried to listen to some of his other tracks? If you haven't I suggest Falling. It's my favorite on the album. It's about suicide (YES, IT REALLY IS). It is a great song musically, and he wrote it at 14.

Now that I have put in my thoughts, continue on.
