None of us are suggesting that Danny wanted his wife to die. We are questioning his decision to use that tragedy - in essence - to advance his singing career.

danny gokey isnt advertising himself on the show like rickey is. danny's site is a charitable organization, so there's a big difference. obviously rickey's sites are just to get votes, danny's is to get help for people in need. it doesnt matter though no one knows rickey well enough to vote for him, danny's a better singer anyways.

Right. Everyone has a story. He has a lot of control over how he's portrayed on the show, and his wife dying is front and center, so he must endorse it to some degree.

Yeah, we have human emotion and some of us actually feel sorry for her even though she should have known what she was getting into. She has been used by the show for entertainment value and cast as the heavy. Again, she has some control over that, but the show is expert at being the puppet master. These are young, naive kids after all.

It IS an advantage, whether he wants it to be or not. That's just a fact. People tend to vote for the contestants they can make an emotional connection with. He didn't exactly play it down, did he?

The motivation for creating this site is readily available. Try the FAQ. Basically, we try to keep the show honest. It can be manipulative, deceptive and quite full of itself at times.
