Never trust a church with a fat pastor. Seriously, if the shepherd of the flock can't control his own physical appetites any better than that, what does he have to say to me?

I live about 10 minutes from the Milwaukee "church". Let me tell you he is being pimped out all over the city, as well as the state. I have not heard much about this "church", maybe I need to make visit some sunday, or whenever they have the pimping occur.

I don't know. I think your being a bit to harsh on this one. It's not like he made the video. You don't think that Rev. Wright is banking on the fact that Obama was in his congregation for 20 years? Of course they're going to capitalize on this. Besides, I think you may be missing out on the potential VFTW aspects Danny('s wife) Croakied. Does voting for "the worst" necesarily mean "the worst singer"? Couldn't "the worst potential post-idol career" factor in? Picture this: Croakied singing the title song for a new Kirk Cameron/Stephen Baldwin film. We would never hear of his career again. Also, why has no one commented on how much he looks like a shorter, pudgier Robert Downey jr.? I'm just sayin.

I get where you're coming from, but even VFTW has a maximum level of smarminess we're willing to accept.

Danny Gokey? Church? Exciting? This video just tried to sell us into thinking that two of the most boring things in the world were exciting. That's far-fetched. (Note: I mean no offense to people of faith here - but church really is boring.)

I don't think you can really compare Rev. Wright to Pastor Rolex. Regardless of how you feel about Gokey, it's rather gross how this church is using him to essentially, cash in. As soon as Idol comes and films, Pastor Rolex blogs about it. When you go to their website, their first thing you see are the Pruitts, Gokey and Jamar Rogers. If you look at all their marketing, its all about "excitement". It's all about the show. And there is an entire page on their website devoted to how God (Through PRUITT) has healed people, videos are out there, too. The Fox 6 (Milwaukee Fox affiliate) has an entire page devoted to Gokey on their website, containing all the news coverage. Perfectly understandable and acceptable, but why include a page containing a map / directions to the place under the link "Danny's Church: Faith Builders International Ministries"? And why is the video featuring the church unavailable but the link is still up? Simple error?
