Come on, let's end the semifinals with a bang! We know it's almost impossible to get a "worst" in the top 3 vote getters, but let's try for Alex's sake. We'll have a lot better of a chance next week. But this week, it was close between Nathaniel and Alex. We let the Worsters vote and they chose Alex out of the 2. But we'd be happy if either get through. As a group, we'll be voting for Alex big time. So nerds of the world unite and grab your phones and pocket protectors to get Alex through!

I don't get it. I put alex in the same category as gokey! Why are we supporting him. He messed up! But he is not that interesting. Nate is NATE! He did not disappoint tonight, he wore the headband and sang a crazy song. Alex just made a fool of himself. Just seems to be the wrong VFTW choice. I don't know what's going on here.

My wife noticed--during the replay while showing the numbers to dial--Nathaniel was singing his song with his nose ring in...but he DID NOT perform live with it earlier in the night!

So is this recap (which did show audience shots) filmed during rehearsal? It was definitely not the performance from the live show.

Has this happened before?

I had high hopes for Alex. He's that category they have every year, goofy looking young kid who can sing. I thought he may be the only one left who fits that demographic. He's this year's Sanjay, or that chicken little kid with the glasses who weighed about 75 pounds.

Kind of like Duke basketball, they always have the one ugly white kid, playing guard, who sinks three-pointers. Hard to believe, but I actually hate Duke and their little Nazi coach, more than this show.

But I think Alex was too goofy tonight and the vote means shit. They put through the three they want. Hard to believe a year without the awkward, goofy kid role being filled. They know there's an audience for these freaks.

I think Nathanial would have been the better choice... That dude is SOOOO bad... SOOOO gay... Such a perfect VFTW choice... Alex had a great VFTW performance tonight but Nathanial is a Sanjaya quality pick...
