It never ceases to amaze me that people can disconnect from reality so easily if it hurts their case. Both newspeople and, of course Jamar, want so much for Danny to be a good person that they are willing to ignore the obvious - even when it's coming out of their mouths! And will they stop with the "shoved down their throats" comment already. I think a new one-line response is in order. At least one new lame response per week please, or are your writers too busy thinking of things to have the judges say??

What an annoying way to post a video... The US weekly page kinda made me laugh- "What do other idol contestants think? Allison Iraheta said 'I think everyone got airtime.'" ps: Jamar looks like a douche. I'm glad I don't watch American Idol live.

You guys are COMPLETELY disgusting! Obviously when somebody has lost someone in their life WHO WAS THEIR WIFE, it's a huge deal, and it's going to impact their life in a major way. Danny mentioning losing his wife was not a publicity stunt, it just lets the viewers understand his story. I'm pretty sure you'll all burn in hell for the way you talk about such a sensitive, devastating experience someone has gone through. I'm sorry you guys feel threatened because he has an amazing voice, and he's everything you guys stand against on this show.

Sorry to upset you TROLL. But: He has no personality. Has average singing talent. Actively attends a "Christian church" which engages in materialism and questionable other practices (I'm sure Lil and Jasmine love the blackface churchgoers at the Urban service). AND is using a deceased loved one to parlay into fame and fortune. ETA: And I'm pretty sure how I talked about Danny Gokey's "devastating" experience won't even come up for discussion on Judgement Day with my myriad of sins to atone for in hell.

Us Weekly has an article about Danny Gokey using his wife's death to further his singing career, and Danny's local Fox station had to comment. Jumping in to comment is Jamar Rogers, who says that Danny mentioning his wife's death "was a means to get America to take notice, but he would never ever ever ever use Sophie's passing to get further." You just contradicted yourself in that sentence... He clearly is using this to get further and it's disgusting. So on Tuesday, will Danny stop mentioning Sophia, or will he sing "She's Out Of My Life" on a makeshift tombstone? Then again, there's the possibility of singing "Thriller" with backup zombie dancers wearing Sophia's head. And still that wouldn't be as tacky as using your dead wife to get a record deal.
