New York Daily News: now there's a reliable source of information. However, it seems plausible, but I think they could care less who number 4 is after Gokey, Adam and Lil. Quote : She claims Adam and Lil are too much like past finalists Chris Daughtry Adam is just like Daughtry in the same way that Prince Charles is just like Sophia Lauren.

Not to sound like a Daughtry fan-boy, but Adam is like Daughtry the same way Boy George is like Sting. BTW, anyone surprised that a staffer would leak the story? I'm surprised the producers are so careless that they discuss these things in front of ordinary staff . . . . Maybe they figure everyone knows anyway, so why bother with the pretense?????

I wouldn't insult Sophia that way Joey, but you are right. The report may be partly right. I certainly see those as the top 4 based on the pimpage so far. The only problem is that I don't see any of them as a money machine for 19E in record sales. To be honest, it will probably be another Taylor year for sales no matter who they decide will win this crapfest.

Sure, to you and me and anybody living in the real world, Daughtry and Adam are completely different. But to a record exec? To a marketing guy who doesn't actually listen to music? I wouldn't discount the story on that basis. Of course, it could just be an educated guess.

Lil is like Mantasia? They need to retract that statement about Lil and her ass before they both file a "lawsuite" for slander and defamation of character. I think Lil has more class than Mantasia by not showing all of her goods to the public. The ass is just there and we have to see it. Plus Lil can read!!! I wonder how the other seven feel after seeing this in print knowing that they are potential fodder. Especially Slumdog B-boy, Roughneck Meatloaf, and Caw Caw

That's got to be false. Yes, the judges and producers for some reason LOVE Gokey but he's more like Taylor Hicks than Lambert is like Daughtry. If they were correct in saying Lambert is like Daughtry then wouldn't they prefer him to win over Gokey? And why is no one comparing Lil Rounds to Paris Bennett? Lil's cover of the Mary J. Blige song sounded just like Paris's, except Paris was on key almost the whole time and didn't shout. Why does Idol even care about similar stories? I can think of three very successful singers (I use the term loosely) that got their start on The Mickey Mouse Club.

The New York Daily News reports that an Idol staffer is running around telling anyone who will listen that she knows the final 4 contestants for American Idol season 8. This staffer purports that the final 4 this year is going to be Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds, and Alexis Grace. When asked if this was just the staff member's opinion, she stated, “Those ARE the people,” and that it wasn't speculation. The staffer also says the show wants to see Danny or Alexis win because they have new stories. She claims Adam and Lil are too much like past finalists Chris Daughtry and Mantasia. We can see the Mantasia comparison, but Daughtry? We guess Daughtry's wife really is a beard then. So what do you think? Will Danny, Adam, Lil, and Alexis be the final 4?
