Have to share this exchange from another discussion board: #1 Grandpa: Gokey. I really like saying Gokey. I wish it were an adjective, maybe like "I'm not going to eat that gokey spinach". Though I'm sure there's a better definition for it, I just can't decide what it is. retro: How about a verb? "I'm going to Gokey that spinach." MurrayTheSkull: The Gokey Pokey: Faux-Soulful White Boy Dance Craze, or Sexual Act Favored by Repressed Christian Choir Leaders? taiwanjason: I think, Murray, that the sexual act you mentioned was the choice for "Saddlebacking" in Savage's column. Can't recall, don't want to look it up. The Bob The: I'm feeling it more like a noun, maybe some kind of euphemism. "Ohhhh, Brett Favre took that one right in the Gokey!" Several hours later.... dr. mindbender: "I didn't think it anywhere near as good as the original"?? Honestly, how often does that happen when you watch American Idol? Claire Zulkey: I know, you're right. But I didn't know what to say that could encapsulate the feeling of "It was pretty okay for Idol but in a vacuum you wouldn't listen to it again." easytoplease: Claire, you should coin a word for that and then use it in upcoming reviews. Claire Zulkey: Gokey. Kris was Gokey.
