Bill-O is just terrified that some of his viewers might be voting for OHMYGOSH a Gay contestant without realizing it (like it's some great secret that Glambert is gay), so now he's launching this bizarre crusade to make sure none of them make a "mistake". He is probably scared to death that some of his droid-like viewers might be tempted to swing the other way after watching Adam perform. Even worse, Dave might kiss them and then they would be gone from the paranoid, homo-phobic, wingnut fold for evah. Bill-O probably doesn't understand any kind of sexual relations that doesn't involve use of a loofah.

Bill O'Reilly knows his audience. He'll sit back and pretend to not have an opinion either way, have guests panelists who will say that Adam's sexuality will not affect the outcome, remind his viewers that they have a vote, and conclude with "we wish Adam Lambert all the best. If he's the best singer, then he should win, right?"

Perhaps it's because I'm a gay male and dealt with this passive-aggressive homophobe shit my whole life, but to me it is obvious what he is trying to accomplish here.
