iTunes Fucks Up and Releases Download Statistics Again

Thanks to MJ's Big Blog for noticing this. iTunes specifically does not release popularity statistics about the current Idol contestants' downloads, as not to inadvertently spoil who is more popular than the others. Well, they messed up and released the data... again. Adam Lambert is very far in the lead, with 7 of the 10 most popular songs sold. Kris Allen isnt' far behind, followed by Danny Gokey. Matt Giraud is selling the least. Since Idol is all about the money, look for Adam to win or at least be signed to 19E and come in second. Check out the Full List of this year's downloads or a Week by Week Analysis as well.

I would prefer root canal to ever listening to Footface sing Part-Time Lover again.

So, according to this we should pick Allison or Matt next, being the two least marketable contestants left. I see that Lil didn't even make the list! That was very VFTW of her!! Interesting they got rid of Anoop before Matt, though...he had more sales that the one they were "willing" to save.

Kellie Pickler's got to be happy with this list.

And Kellie Pickler, the list is happy with you.

I would love to see some one crunch these numbers against the judges' comments. I had never downloaded an Idol contestant's song until Ring of Fire and I added Mad World to my collection as well. GO ADAM! (Slight fantarding, but glad to see just how well he's being received in the "real world.")

It's so good to see Gokey's not as popular as he acts like he is. *contented sigh*

What I found most amusing about this list was that, on the complete list of Idol studio versions, not only is Lil at the VERY BOTTOM, more people downloaded Jorge's and Jasmine's songs than hers. Considering that the bars show recent data instead of overall sales, thats even more pathetic.

Adam sucks so he probably should win...I was a big fan of AI, always understood that it was just a popularity contest so never took it so seriously but loved it anyway. This is season is by far the worst and everybody involved in it is a complete tool (well maybe not Kris and Allison, they're just caught in the mess)...so thanks VFTW for help me feel a little lest frustrated with this whole fiasco.
