Randy Jackson Headlines National Train Day

For some reason, Amtrak has tapped Randy Jackson as a celebrity headliner for National Train Day on May 9. What's the matter, was Thomas the Tank Engine busy? This is the stupidest pairing since Paula tried to sponsor The Partnership for a Drug Free America. Randy and trains? What's the connection there, that he's as fat as a train? Not seeing it. To try to tie the two together, Amtrak VP Emmett Fremaux said, "As one of the hosts of the most watched TV show in America, Randy Jackson is helping to raise the profile of train travel as an important part of American culture." In response, Randy said, "Yo dawg, we got a hot one tonight! Dude, dude, I always say this is a transportation competition, and this train can really move! You in the dining car tonight, dawg!"

This may be the most pointless celebrity to event matchup in the history of time. What is he even going to do as a "headliner", talk unintelligibly for 2 hours?

HAHAHA...you're too funny, Dave! I say they'll put him in a red track suit, and call him the caboose!

He was probably invited because of his expertise on train wrecks

Maybe Kara can "pull a train" for the event.

Maybe because he wears a train-ing bra?

Maybe, just maybe, it's because both Randy and the event are idiotic. I wish they'd invite Kara to front National Wiener Industry Day.

I started busting up at this headline because it was just so random and then I lost it at the Thomas line. This is one of the more WTF moments I've seen on Idol this year. Maybe since Randy is under the radar now because he sucks and his gimmick is tiresome and Kara is getting lots of media spotlight (mostly for sucking) his PR people tried to find something else for him to do and this was the result. Hilarious either way.

Worster from a far away land

What do we know about trains? They are:

1)Extremely large objects

2)Obselete by others in their field

3)Making extremely annoying repeatitive sounds that don't really serve any meanigful task

4)Always move around in the same pattern. Impossible for them to try new routes.

5)Were once known as a hollywood symbol (westerns) but now barely make the news unless they fall of a cliff

And you still fail to see how this relates to Randy?

I think makes as much sense as it did for the Olsen Twins to be McDonald's Europe spokemodels. The "Olsen Happy Meal" (a french fry, packet of ketchup and an ice cube) was a HUGE hit!!!
