Jordin Sparks Premieres Her New Song "Battlefield"

Jorbacca's new song "Battlefield" has leaked. It seems very radio friendly, so it'll probably become a hit. It's kind of catchy, but the annoying synthesizers in the chorus will get old really fast. And if Jorbacca is worried about a battlefield, she should probably stop provoking Mothra and eating the poor citizens of Tokyo.

I couldn't listen to it when MJ posted and I still can't. I cannot STAND Jordin. Every time I look at her face I wanna punch her in the mouth.

I think I only felt that way with Syesha and Danny, but neither got (so far) to Jordin levels of dislike.

Could that song get anymore BORING? Like, where's the Danny-esque screaming? Or like, rapping? Guitar solos?

Boo.

Right before the chorus hit, I could tell that it was mainly going to consist of her repeating the title over and over.

That awful chorus reminds me of Beyonce's awful "Halo"

Anyone else find it amusing that the people involved in Idol still push it as a "singing competition", but they still autotune the bejeezus out of their former contestants' recordings? Jordin's on the cusp of getting robo-voice here.

Wow, this sounds nothing like One Step At A Time. It doesn't even sound like the same person singing it.

That's awful sound editing.

Also, that lyricist should be fired.

She's so pretty. I have been mean to a lot of Idols, but Jordin isn't one of them. I find her wonderfully uncompromised by fame and borderline naive for her age which is almost endearing. This is a pretty good slice of power pop, which is what she should be singing. I prefer this to some overwrought mega-ballad. Good job, Jordin. I do admit her voice seems to be lacking something distinguishing here though. Whatever they are doing to her voice, I don't think she needs it.

I'm not feeling it with this song. It doesn't even sound like the same Jordin. They're trying to make her sound like Beyonce instead of letting her be herself.

^ If by naive you mean sanctimonious bitch, absolutely.

I actually like One Step at a Time, but this is crap. How long before you edit in the stomping and roaring? It's not a complete Jorbacca song without it.

Love is a Battlefield, only so long as she gets to eat the loser.
