Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest Insult Kris Allen on Ryan's Radio Show

It is all about what is on the radio and what they can shove down people's throats. The comparisons to Taylor Hicks and Ruben are ridiculous.

Ruben was an R&;B singer and Taylor was more of a bluesy type of singer. Neither one were contemporary compared to what was on the radio when they won. Kris Allen is exactly what you hear on the radio.

Who are some of the type of singers/groups on the radio now? Eric Hutchinson, Jason Mraz, Plain White Ts, ect. Adam could probably out sing all of them, yet there are what is out there right now.

It is mind boggling how short sighted AI has become.

you people saying Kris allen is more the type you hear on the radio are forgetting one thing: Kris sucks and is a terrible, terrible singer. All of his songs sound exactly the same and he has an incredibly limited range that will be more noticeable as he sings more shit. He's quite possibly the worst winner American Idol has ever had. VFTW victory!

When you figure that there are millions of people who only tune in to the finals to see "the next great singer" and then there are the lurkers who don't ever watch the show but heard about this "iconic" singer named Adam...and now he doesn't even win the lame contest against 12 nobodies...Adam's allure as the next Jagger, Elvis or whatever took a huge hit Wednesday night.

The stiff upper lip and dagger eyes on Simon's face at the end of the show were priceless. And he'll be even more P.O.ed when Adam goes off to Broadway and becomes a bigger star there than he does recording adult contemporary songs about "hurricanes" for 19 Entertainment/Syco. ROTFLMFAO

It all boils down to Simon Cowell being pissy that for once people didn't listen to him and voted for the other dude. Simple as that. This was a big "Fuck you" to Simon and Idol producers.

As for the comparisons to Taylor and Ruben...they don't really jive. Kris Allen may be boring and bland but he can blend in nicely with what's going on in the top 40. I think the chances of success of some whitebread dude with a guitar are better than the chances of a morbidly obese R&;B Luther clone and some spazz who looks and acts like your drunk uncle singing karaoke at a wedding.

People don't get it. Singing is an art form that is never complete. You learn you study and you continue to get better. Farmbot sounds WAY better today than she did when she won idol.

Listen to the whole thing. Simon puts it into perspective and says he got the most votes by America so people must like him so good luck to him.

For those of you who think Kris is a horrible singer, go back and listen to his live version of Heartless. Probably in the top two performances of all of Idol season 8.

In the end, he knows it's a popularity competition and not a talent competition and Simon as much admits that in the interview. As for Seacrest "comparing" him to Ruben or Taylor, he is just asking in the list of Idols, where does Kris go on the list. I will say that Ryan sounded like way more of a douche than Simon.

Oh, and no mention of Simon being harsh to Kara's song in this interview or the fact he thought she had a good body "for her age"? That's the best part of it all.

Remind again who is this Kris Allen of who you speak? I don't remember him.
