Why did Simon and the other judges put Kris in the top 36 then? If Simon doesn't think he can sing, then why give Kris a chance to get votes? That doesn't make any sense. Or perhaps he thinks these comments of his will help Kris in the long run. Because I can guarantee you that people do vote against Simon's opinion.

In my opinion, if you are just judging vocals, then Kris comes in fourth. Allison is 1st, Danny and Adam ties 2nd/3rd, and then Kris is 4th. However, it is not just about the singing. I voted for Kris because he is artistic and well rounded. Kris and Adam were the only ones that had the whole package. Allison was to similiar to Adam. Danny was to dorky looking with his dancing. Adam was great vocally with a sense of his own style. He was unique on Idol, but for those of you that think his guyliner, fingernail polish and hair styler was new must not get around much. Ever heard of Marilyn Manson, Twisted Sister, or Boy George? Adam's style is not new. Kris was also unique on Idol and stood out from the other contestants because of how he rearranged songs to fit his style. He had great stage presence. He wasn't as exciting and flashy as Adam, but he was simply laid back in a "COOL" sort of way with his guitar. There was nothing awkward about his performances. He also had the good looks. Adam is goodlooking to, but I just think Kris had a broader appeal. Adam is more of niche. They are so different that it is hard to compare. They both deserved to win American Idol.
