Daughtry Producer Says Danny Gokey Doesn't Have a Future in Music

Music producer Howard Benson, who has produced songs for Daughtry and Kelly Clarkson, told MTV News that he isn't excited about the prospects of a Danny Gokey record. Benson had this to say:

In fact, Howard Benson, who has worked with Chris Daughtry and Kelly Clarkson, doesn't think Gokey has a future in the industry. "The hardest record to make is Gokey's record, which is why I don't think he's going to make one," Benson told MTV News. "It would be very tough to make a record with him.

"I don't think he established who he was at all," Benson continued, citing a prevailing worry among record execs. "He has this great, soulful voice. But he dresses like some guy that's in a bar somewhere. He doesn't look the part."

Well, duh. That's why VFTW picked him. Gokey's record is going to tank miserably. Though should we be listening to the advice of someone who worked with shit like the band Daughtry? Well, he doesn't like Gokey, so he at least has some common sense.

LOL!!

Explains a lot though - During the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the "competition" part of the show, they were clearly and obviously pimping DWD, then it sorta dried up and they switched to consistently pimping Madame.

My theory was that Danny was the favorite and Madame was the stand-by. A "test case" for I-Dull to gauge whether their audience would accept an obviously gay contestant. AND, once they realized their audience didn't care, that's when they switched to pushing Madame.

BUT - maybe the truth is they realized after a few weeks that Gokey was creeping everybody out, and had no future?

Whatever the reason, they clearly loved DWD then dropped him. That quote from Benson is as likely a reason as any.

His dead wife "pipping" is starting to catch up to him because he can't make a successful record on that alone. Gokey fans will hear is voice on a CD, and they'll wonder if it's the same guy they fell in love with and not this train wreck coming out of the speakers.

Guess what fans....DUH!

Of course it's easy. Make him a Christian Pop Rock singer.

Make him sing songs where the word "He" is of course capitalized and emphasized.

Make him sing the gospels. Make him (or "Him") sing songs about redemption, and love beyond death (especially when the object of such love helps him get more votes).

Name the album "Gokey 3:16".

Then pray that it will work.
