Susan Boyle is decent, but she isn't anywhere near as good as people act like she is. And the whole "OMG an ugly person can actually sing!" attitude is quite insulting and condescending. Diversity is actually really cool, least I think so.

All the hoopla over Boyle reminded me of a certain Idol contestant who got pimped to the heavens and then lost. Can't these guys (Cowell and gang) come up with some new ideas? And Diversity was kinda meh. Yawn. next.

She doesn't sing my kind of music and I'd never go out and buy her cd's. She ain't much to look at, but she *can* sing her ass off. I haven't heard that much of her from the main media outlets. She was hyped in the UK way more than anywhere else. Maybe you should start www.votefortheworst.uk and a host of others so you can complain about every talent competition in every country, since it appears you have too much time on your hands now that American Idul is over, that being your bread and butter.

Remember, class: Heavy favorite wins, no news. "Upset" happens, BIG news. OTOH, it appears that BGT releases vote totals, so it appears to be more on the up and up. That said, one would have to think that since The Woman Who Shall Not Be Named lost by 4 million votes, there was a bit of a VFTW mentality going on over there. So ... can we claim this one, too?

My 84-year-old mother observed at dinner last night that Boyle was another Lambert, pimped and then handed 2nd. I've brought out her Worsterism. She mused at the scripted judge comments. But the, the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.
