Funnylady, please tell me you're a worster in disguise and that's your form of satire, because nobody can really be that retarded. You do know that this is not a fantard site, right?? If you're for real, then go back to the tardboards where you likely came from. Nobody gives a shit about Penis With Ears here. Pinkpride, congratulations on continuing to post crap that I disagree with. Ticklecrack sucks, end of discussion. And, Theresalwaysone, or whatever, I venture to think that if you asked most CEOs, they would admit that they had a lot of luck in the process of becoming a CEO. Your argument implies that a person who becomes a CEO was the only one qualified for that job. I beg to differ. In my company, there are probably a few hundred who are qualified. But guess what? One CEO slot, and about 20 VP slots leaves lots of qualified people in the dust. I believe in the Peter Principle, but there are still LOTS of people who don't get to test it. And here's a true life example for you. A local band who was EXTREMELY good was just starting to get noticed, to the point where they were going to audition for some record companies in a showcase in New York. However, the night before, their trailer was broken into and their equipment was lifted, about 20,000 worth. So, not only do you need good luck, you also need to avoid bad luck. Now I'll admit that there were a few things they should have done to help prevent this, but that had nothing to do with talent or lack thereof. They did manage to recover and regain their greatness, but relationships and kids came along, and you need steady income to support a family, and touring is out of the question at that point. So, the band broke up, and the two guys that were the nucleus run a rock venue now. They have no regrets, they just figure that was their destiny. There are probably thousands of other examples like this, where amount of talent had nothing to do with lack of mainstream success. Generally, bands that "suck" like you say (I'd rather say bands that are just starting out) do not headline shows. Headlining shows is the first goal to reach for. I will agree that you have to get at least to that level before you start shooting for mainstream. David Cook was headlining shows before AI, and I imagine Daughtry was, too. So was Bo Bice and Constantcrap, so at least they weren't trying to make too much of a shortcut. But, in summation, after all this wordy stuff, it still comes down to this for me - Daughtry sucks, as well as any other band who performs pop emo.
