Hmmm, he doesn't perform, he doesn't host, he doesn't develop the talent, he doesn't mentor ... yup, worth every penny. Don't TPTB realize that the fantards will follow whoever the put in that chair? I'm sure there are plenty of dicks out there with a British accent.

SIMON COWELL OFFERED $144 MIL A YEAR TO STAY ON 'AMERICAN IDOL' ... If I ever commit suicide that will be the last line of my suicide note.

I'll bet Simon's head turned on its axis like in "The Jerk".

If you were to pay Paula in drugs you'd be spending the entire show profits.

Wow. They can afford to pay this hack 100 mil, but can't afford to give out poptarts or provide decent security at the tour shows.

It IS a lot of money ... but then again, I can't really imagine the show without Simon. They should get rid of Kara .... fast!

That is ridiculous. Nobody needs to make that much money, especially in one year. Hell, I would be happy to win a couple thousand in the sweepstakes!

Simon Cowell's negotiation tactics for his new contract with American Idol are apparently working. The New York Post reports that Simon is being offered between $100 million and $144 million a year to judge American Idol. Compare that to the measly $34 million he made judging the show last year. Since Idol makes about $900 million a year, is Simon worth 1/9 of the total profits? Probably. Even though he's a tool mouthpiece for the producers, we'd have no one to vote for if Simon wasn't telling the VFTW contestants that they're terrible and they should pack their bags and go home. Simon's hatred of a contestant is one of the biggest ways for us to decide who to vote for. If Idol wants to save money, they should just cut Randy and Kara out now, since no one listens to them. And pay Paula in even more drugs so she's extra loopy.
