It's not just the judges of Idol who are making beaucoup bucks to stick around. Ryan Seacrest made $5 million this year for Idol, but he's in talks to make a lot more next season according to THR.com. Seacrest is also in talks to produce shows with 19Evil. Well, they can't be any stupider than Simon's failure of a show Cupid. Currently though, Ryan produces Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Denise Richards: It's Complicated. So we know he loves train wrecks almost as much as we do.

UPDATE: The deal is final. Ryan is now making $45 million over the course of 3 years. He also signed a contract to host any CKX (19 Entertainment's parent company) that might succeed Idol. Looks like even the producers know Idol isn't going to last much longer.

I think he did that True Beauty thing, too. I'll have to look it up. It was this laughably horrid show on ABC that did hidden camera stuff with superficial, catty, yet beautiful people.

ETA: Sorry. Produced by Tyra Banks.

I think Ryan is taking empire-building lessons from Dick Clark and Merv Griffin. Mr. Demi Moore-Kutcher is in the same empire-building class.

The only way Seacrust can handle all his jobs is personal assistants who keep up with stuff, from clean underwear to travel itinerary. He likely has someone to maintain his social networking/web stuff.

Daughter works for an artist management firm and handles maintenance/responses/updates for a number of artists, along with travel itinerary, etc. Hope no one's illusion has been shattered.

More power to him. I hope he knows when to quit before the business gets tired of him. Maybe he can have a good 3 or 4 decade run like Regis.
