I'm not saying this is definitely true, but it wouldn't surprise me. Remember what happened to Clay Aiken . He came off the Idol show with the most momentum of any contestant. His album "Measure of a Man" sold 613,000 first week. and RCA wouldn't play him on the radio to this day because he hired a lawyer and got himself out of Idol contract. So don't be surprised if they,RCA, would hurt themselves just to get back at someone. They're real good at that type thing. Whether you're a Clay fan or not it makes you think. Then they force him to record his sophomore album of all covers. Even his Xmas album went platinum, but they made up their minds to get a little revenge. Strange company.

My December was mostly crap anyway, so the label knew that it didn't matter how much they promoted it - it was a lost cause. So, it didn't hurt them. They didn't spend money on it, like someone said. They aren't going to make a lot of money on Already Gone, either.

According to Wikipedia My December was certified both gold and platinum on December 12, 2007, by the dreaded RIAA. It has sold 2.5 million albums worldwide. Not too shabby.
