Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson, and Joe Jonas Are Being Set Up As Guest Judges for American Idol 9

For more publicity while Paula "negotiates" her contract, Shania Twain is now confirmed as being brought in to fill Ms. Rehabdul's shoes for a few dates. Rumors are also swirling that Joe Jonas and Kelly Clarkson will take a seat behind the judges' table during the auditions. The new slew of guest judges join Victoria Beckham and Mary J. Blige as people who will probably bring very little to the show by repeating producer-generated lines. Katy Perry is trying to work Idol into her schedule as well.

If Joe Jonas had been a guest judge this year instead of last year, think of all the jokes to be had about the dumb leading the blind. Okay, he's not really dumb, he just can't sing - same diff.

What do people think of Marie Osmond as guest judge? She was a judge on another show Simon produced about 4 years ago called Celebrity Duets (it was so bad), and she was pretty good. She wouldn't stop talking, which gave her a lot of Worster potential. Also, she sometimes wears weird clothes, like that doll costume on Dancing With The Stars, sometimes she faints, she's treats every show like it's QVC, and her brother's a famewhore.

Joe Jonas? Are you effing kidding me? Well I guess that might be a good thing. More teeny boppers who can't sing will try out just to maybe get the chance to meet him, which means more worsters on this show. Smart Idol, you're genius.

Shania and Kelly have reputable careers and have legitimate talent, but really, Joe Jonas? Who knew the Antichrist of music would appear in the likeness of three pop-singing brothers?

Joe Jonas?!!! Oh my God, I can not stand Jonas Brothers music. Yet another reason for me not to bother watching this year.

Are they just doing guest judges during the audition weeks like they usually do, or are they actually going to be at the live shows too? I do not see why they need to replace Paula at all, as they are now back to their original two guys and one girl panel.

This sort of confirms Paula is coming back- I don't see Kelly "filling in" for her unless she knew this- Paula just won't come to the auditions and will just do the show in Jan.- and she was always faking sick anyway to get out of being at the auditions so everyone gets what they want.

What exactly does Joe Jonas have to make him a suitable judge for American Idol? I can't stand The Jonas Brothers or their music, yet people are lapping that shit up like Madonna lapping up milk in the "Express Yourself" video. Kelly Clarkson and Shania Twain, on the other hand, have credentials worthy of a good Idol judge.

I'd like to see the following as guest judges in future Idol auditions: Cher, Steven Tyler, Kylie Minogue, Melanie Brown (if not, Melanie Chisholm), even Weird Al Yankovic would be a better guest judge than Joe Jonas and especially Victoria fucking Beckham.

At the mention of Victoria let me just say this:

If someone sings an old Spice Girls song for her, complete with their old dance moves, I will die laughing. I may watch all the Victoria epsiodes just to see that.

Joe Jonas?! oh wow! he is so tone-deaf... it would be absolutely hilarious to hear his comments! I hope he's a guest judge! (although if he's a guest judge then the Jonas Brothers will probably perform on an elimination night and to hear them live is just an absolute nightmare... even worse then hearing their CD... oh well. it'd be worth it)

The obvious replacement for Paula would be Britney. Why is no one championing her?

Pop star who really can't sing? Check.

More of a dancer than a vocalist? Check.

Past her prime? Check.

Likely to be under the influence at any given time? Check.

Embarrassing reality TV series in her past? Check.

Batshit crazy? Check.

Seriously. Let's start the campaign now. Unless they can somehow bring back Anna Nicole Smith from the grave, I can't think of a better choice. Britney is the new Paula.
