I auditioned for the 3rd season of AGT back when I was in 7th grade. Like Idol, there are sets of preliminary auditions you need to pass before you actually get to audition in front of the judges. First, it's one judge. Then, It's three judges, The final preliminary is auditioning for the producers, if I'm not mistaken. I was sent into a room with a group of 7-8 people for the first preliminary audition. This was the audition for the singers, mind you. They break everybody up into different groups or something. Anyways, I was in the room, and out of the people in the room, only 3 people did good. A 40-something year old lady from NV who sang "call me when you're sober" Incredibly well, a 13-year-old girl who sang "The Rose" by Bette Midler, and Myself (not to be mr. braggytrousers, or anything). The one judge said that we all did a good job, but none of us were going through. The judge was not allowed to tell us what he thought of each of our performances, just if we were going through or not. When I told my friends back home that I hadn't made it, they were all surprised, as was I. I saw some silly acts get through that day, and yet some people who had some incredible talent got shunned. Sure, you need to fill the wacky quota a bit, but this is America's got talent, put through the talent! Now, hearing about Arcadian, I'm sort of glad I didn't make it. Poor kid, forced do do something ridiculous in place of what makes him happy. The producers should be ashamed, in my opinion.
