Bitch tells it like it is. It's interesting, it seems that a lot of young people today think they can just go on a reality show and be famous for the rest of their lives. Not true. The only person I can think who is truly famous after being on a reality show is Jennifer Hudson.

It drives people nuts in every industry (not just the music industry) when a young hotshot wants it easy. Fresh outta college kid thinks they can flaunt their GPA and get an upper management job? Lol... Same goes for Idol. These are the equivalent of fresh outta college grads that are looking for a grown up job that pays big bucks. Not gonna happen unless you're lucky. It's always better in the long run to be a hard worker and get to learn your industry before extra huge returns. Good luck, ex-Idolers. You are probably going to be the next Nikki McKibben.

Chris is intensely real. He has a fire hose of ice water to pour on the Idols.

That is a great blog post, Chris. Full of good intentioned solid advice. maybe one or two contestants from ANY season will read that and say "oh that's what I'm doing wrong...sitting on my ass waiting for Fuller and company to come to me and say 'let's make a record!' Castro is signed by a big label....true. But for how long? He'll probably be the second contestant on Dogface's new show "Dropped". Wait. Make that 3rd. Cunty and Joanna will be 1st and 2nd.

Wow....that was a great post. There was a lot of insight in there for anyone trying to make it in music period, not just Idol cast-offs. Chris is a smart guy. Do the Idols really clear 200,000k a piece from the tour?

Jesus Christ, Chris' blog entry has been carpet-bombed by Adamtards. The rejects can't resist promoting their future reject. Excellent advice, Chris.

Ok, wait. Let me all sing a little song about the Idol tour being over... "Ohhhh now that it's all overrrr..the birds can nest agaain..i'll only snoow when the sun comes out..I'll shine only when it starts to raaaain..." Yeah. They could sing that on Elton John night. But anywho, I am not an ex-Idol contestant, but I think I am going to take Chris Sligh's advice anyway (whatever it is)...just on how I live me life, and what things I should believe in...who I should love, etc. and so forth. Because Chris Sligh is a smart guy. But I digress...I do believe Ellen Degeneres has vowed to transform the vile coldness, and cruelty that is American Idol. (See the nature of Ellen's transformative powers smack dabb in the middle of this article here Obama Supports Mandate (maybe) but opposes rudeness, American Idol feud (Ellen vs. Simon), Megan Fox wears a bag, Michael Jackson's new movie, Lady Gaga's "Poker Face", (also "Big Man Japan" movie review) If she succeeds, the days of unkindly kicking contestants like Josiah Leming back into the streets to live in their cars will be over.

This may be one of the most intelligent things I've ever seen written by an ex-Idol contestant. (Wait - that's not saying much, is it?) Seriously, though, his advice is pretty good. And the last piece of advice might be the best. If you don't love what you do, you have no business trying to make even a partial career out of playing music.
