1) I haven't been a Worster for that long, but from what I can tell, that contributes a lot towards our like or dislike of a contestant. Although not always. IIRC, Megan was pretty pimped until she started pissing off the judges.

Remember, when we first heard about Adam everyone picked him as a future Worster, even possibly to be picked before or as a replacement for Megan. We thought that even if he didn't become Sanjaya 2.0., at least the fact he's a gay glam-rocker wannabe might provide some entertaining performances. But in the end, he never became so partly because he sold out and toned down the flaming queen thing (except for Ring of Fire) and partly because everyone was so obsessed with him. And that too also contributes a lot - VFTW almost never goes along with the most popular contestant. It's against the ethics.

People who say "this site used to be funny" always amuse me. They love to mock people but hate when their object of affection is mocked. Then suddenly it's not funny anymore. Get a sense of humor. Adam Lambert is hideous looking, has an annoying voice, and is constantly saying things that make him look stupid. How can we not make fun of that?
