^^ Good for you But I meant the mainstream audience in general who is expected to buy the album. American society is still largerly conservative. Adam has since confirmed that this is indeed the cover and it's campy and ridiculous by design. Which only shows that he's out of touch with reality. He's enjoying his newfound popularity and creative freedom, thinking that commercial success is secondary. But he's going to have a rude awakening when people cancel those Amazon pre-orders en masse and leave comments like "I was going to buy it but now I can't cause my girlfriend will think I'm gay". If even SC's are questioning it, the general public will be totally turned off. Making the cover overshadow the actual contents of the album is a big mistake. If Adam wants to just look edgy and controversial he should make a photo album, not a CD. If the sales tank he will be left wondering what could have been if he just let people judge him by his music.

Sadly, I AM an adult...no kids or anything though...just a live-in boyfriend who acts like a big kid. So yes, I am in fact a fantard-lite. That's ok. I accept that. I tend to be a big dorky geek and a fan-girl to boot, so I've been called worse... but I didn't "screech" when I saw it... I just squealed... and it wasn't even loud enough for anyone to hear other than the person sitting next to me. :-) And yes, I suppose according to people here, I DO have shitty taste in music. Oh well. That's cool. We all like different things. Actually, I have extremely eclectic music taste, so most likely, while I do like Adam, I also most likely like the music you like as well. Just saying. And you're absolutely right. Society as whole is homophobic, which is unfortunate. I recently got in trouble at work because I had gotten asked to sing the opening number for a drag show (They love having straight girls sing at their shows), and I was talking about it, and someone in the office heard it and was offended because I was talking about drag queens. So stupid. I got written up for being "offensive". People are ridiculous. I honestly just don't see the big deal about the album cover. The cover isn't what's important, it's the music. But I guess since half of his fans are stupid tards who think they're going to get in his pants, it will probably hurt his sales. But, the fans that actually like his music won't care about the cover. And the rest of you can SUCK IT! Ok sorry, that was just a joke. I'm not really like that.

Lambert has no career as a Rock Star. In an interview, Gene Simmons said that he believes Lambert will have a successful career, but not as a Rock Star. Granted, Gene Simmons is an over the hill washed up has been. But I have to admit I agree with him on this - Lambert is not a Rock Star.

Potch I have to agree with you, if people like his music they should care less about the bizarre cover. Maybe I just have terrible (or unusual) taste in music too. Hey the last CD I bought was by this group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_A2bTG0ZZGI

^^^^^ Ok, you got me curious, so I just HAD to click that link to check it out. And it was pretty damn decent. Not bad, not bad at all. That shows that you actually do appreciate good music. That gets me wondering how you ever became an Adam Lambert fan.

LOL fenderbender. I'm didn't really think anyone else would be able to deal with the Hungarian lyrics. Makes it difficult to sing along to, but I can't sing worth a crap anyway so it's a good thing. But yeah....I also think Lambert is good.

potch-- I don't think homophobia should be confused with good taste in music. There are some ridiculous claims about people being homophobic when it is clear they just don't plain like the music. And there are those who are definitely homophobic. I've seen better covers from gay stars than this one. And better music. Unfortunately, if you want to be a marketing success, the album is what everyone will see when they walk in the store. People do judge things by their cover. And if Adam doesn't care, good for him. Prince was controversial, but he also had some pretty good music. Adam needs to try to do both...and unfortunately, I don't think he has "arrived" yet to make an album cover like this one and expect people to snatch it up.

OH no no no, please don't misunderstand me. I would never accuse someone as being homophobic for not liking the music. Everyone likes different things. I honestly don't care that half the people here don't like him and his music... if I did, I wouldn't be here. I just like this site because the people are freaking funny. But the people who previously liked the music, but now are refusing to buy the album because of the cover... that I find sad. Not because he will lose sales, because I don't really care about that, but because it just goes to show that our society is still full of bigotry. I completely understand what you're saying though. Sadly, in the mainstream, it probably will matter, because the country is still pretty much run by Christian Conservatives. The only saving grace may be that more and more people are downloading than buying cds, so in that respect, the cover may not hold as much weight. Personally, the cover doesn't matter to me. I think it's totally fine, but then again, I hang out with gays and drag queens daily. I just think all this hubbub over the cover is just plain silly. But, that's just me.

potch--Well, if he dreamed this up to get rid of the Sparkle Cows, it may have succeeded. Idol cares about selling records...actual talent is secondary***. So if he is purposely blowing up his album to get the publicity with the purpose of getting sacked by 19E so he may make his own album, this is brilliant. ***I have also long suspected that Simon uses this reality show to scout out young good looking girls that Simon wants to date himself. I do not know how else to explain Kristy Lee Cook, Bikini Girl, and basically all but one of the female finalists...well, two...it would be sick and wrong if that's why Pippi Longstocking made it...I don't think anyone wants to lay Lil Rump.
