don't take me for a stan or anything but as a chart junkie I must protest; #50 is a very respectable debut for a song that isn't getting a physical release. rihanna's new single debuted this week at #100, and we all know that's inevitably going to be at #1 for a while, so debut position is not a great predictor of success. I'm interested in seeing how his real first "single" will do...I am guessing that he is not going to have the radio support of the adult contemporary stations that so many of the idols, including the Davids above, have had, so I think Adam more than anyone is going to have to make it in the "real world".

Hey Sparkle Cows, it's a "Time for Miracles" or buying extra copies to make that crappy song go any higher.

I'm actually surprised it charted at all, considering it's not supposed to be the "first single" from his CD. Have to agree that it is cliche and very generic '80s power ballad (although nothing will ever be as bad as Aerosmith's "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" in that category). I have to admit, I'm curious to hear his first single that they promote, though. I was very disappointed with Kris Allen's stupid "Live Like We're Dying" - didn't Tim McGraw just have a hit with something like that, and didn't Nickelback record that godawful thing about today being your last day? Alison's first single didn't really knock me over either, and I am a big fan of hers. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised by Adam's first official single, but I doubt it. I don't think there's been an Idol contestant since Carrie Underwood that I've liked enough to buy music from, and I seriously doubt Adam will be the exception, LOL.

Wowza. And the first week is usually the best for former AI contestants due to the initial frau rush. The fail train is pulling out of the station, and Adam has a first-class seat!<!--Session data-->

Just thought I would add that Clay Aiken's first single debuted at #1 sold 300,000 every week and his 1st album debuted at #1 SOLD 613,000 1ST Week. And as we all know Mr.Aiken gets ZERO radio play.
