I don't get this review... I mean, I SORT of do, but not completely. When I first heard FYE I was like, okay... but it grew on me and I understand why it was his first single. It's catchy and the lyrics are awesome for him. His second single I'll admit, is like one of the filler tracks from a Pink album... I'm not sure why they released that as a single at all. But The rest of the album is great, his voice sounds awesome, and the writing is actually quite good. Sometimes slow songs are boring, you have to get into them... thats what they're about. Broken open is gorgeous, I compare it to Mad World... and he is open about his sexuality... he does mention a male love interest in Fever. But people are still uncomfortable with him being gay, so while he's not in the closet, he's not throwing it in people's faces and alienating them. And his album cover was meant to be ridiculous, inspired by the 80s and crazy glammy album covers of that time. But you guys ignore peoples motives to build your own for stories... which is cool for people who have no talent like Jedward.

I don't agree that AL should have used male pronouns to identify his sexuality, I mean who does that? I wouldn't expect that from any gay singer. I'm kind of wondering what the new video is going to be like after seeing the pics - could be interesting. That is, if it ever gets shown in the UK.

I agree with the review for the song "Sleepwalker" - it starts out great, but the ending goes downhill and continues on too long. Some of the other songs don't do anything for me at all.

There are a few songs I really like though, I don't think the entire album is as bad as VFTW would like to believe it is. Yeah I'll probably download the album.

There are five tracks from the snippets that I kind of liked. Problem is, even if I like the album, I won't be able to get the image of blubbering sparkle cows out of my mind.

Forgot to mention I totally disagree with the review of the song "Broken Open" being boring. I really like that one, probably the most of any of them.

I don't appreciate the fact however that "FYE" has been stuck in my head for days and won't go away. I like it, but not THAT much!

Btw, where does this sparkle cow thing come from anyway? Where have all these older fat female fans been seen? How does anyone know these are the demographics of his fan base? I consider myself a fan but I don't fit the mold.

I downloaded it on monday and it is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE giant steaming turd. His voice becomes more and more irritating as the album goes on, there's no warmth to his voice, it is paper thin and only cuts through the music not because of harmonic content and richness but because it is shrill and banshee-like. I mean...some high belting can be cool, but if it's done throughout the full 4 minutes of a song it totally loses its dramatic purpose and becomes a gimmick.

yeah, the album is about as mediocre as expected... but, um, you might want to edit the last sentence of the review. anne frank != lisa frank. a bit different, i would say.
